    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: How do I know if Joshua Springs is right for me?

Joshua Springs is ideal for people who want to enjoy the comfort of home with the peace of mind that comes with around-the-clock care. The community is equipped to help people manage their medications, succeed with their daily activities, and provide housekeeping services so their apartments stay tidy.

However, Joshua Springs has limitations regarding which services they can provide. Incoming residents must meet the community’s admission guidelines before they can move in to be sure Joshua Springs s a suitable choice. Before applying, prospective residents can ask themselves a few simple questions to see if Joshua Springs’ assisted living or memory care programs may be right for them:

    • Is the person able to move around, or are they confined to their bed?
    • Does the person need continuous medical assistance?
    • Does the person have short-term memory loss, dementia, or Alzheimer's disease?
    • Does the person need rehabilitation?

Like most assisted living facilities and independent living communities, residents must be ambulatory to live at Joshua Springs. Their staff and apartments are not equipped to care for someone who is confined to their bed, and the community may not admit applicants who are non-ambulatory for their own safety.

The same principle applies to people who need ongoing skilled nursing care. Joshua Springs is not a nursing home and is not prepared to help anyone with chronic illness or injury that requires ongoing medical assistance. People who need continual health care services may consider other other facilities that are more well-equipped to guarantee their safety and well being.

If a person has memory loss or Alzheimer's disease, Joshua Springs may be a suitable choice for long-term care. The community’s In the Moment® program offers extensive senior care options tailored for people with dementia, creating a comfortable environment for them to flourish.

The best way to find out if Joshua Springs is the right choice is to schedule a tour. Touring the residences gives families a closer look at what it means to be a Maple Leaf resident and shows them all of what the community has to offer. Interested parties can use the link above to schedule a tour at their convenience or use the “Make an inquiry” link to ask questions about their long-term care programs and admission requirements.

I like the fact that that we feel like everyone at Joshua Springs sincerely care about the residents. You help us with the transitioning residents from one level of care to another and are very transparent in that. You give us honest and unbiased opinions and are easy to locate in the facility, but also understanding of feelings.

I love living at Joshua Springs because I don't have to worry about maintenance on a house. There was always something that had to be fixed at my house and it cost a fortune. Living here, I don't have to worry about that anymore.

All in all at the community I think management is doing okay. They are very easy to talk to and they try. My wife eats the food and eats it well and the staff has tried to get my wife to participate in the activities. On average, the housekeeping is pretty good. The laundry is fair and the maintenance is good. You always see the staff working and they are keeping up with messes most of the time. The care staff tries very hard. There are a couple of girls that work really hard and seem to know what they are doing.

I had a referral from one of my neighbors whose mother was there and it was the closest to home and the newest facility, the proximity to our home was really important. I think management is wonderful, the Director Jessica is fantastic. They're constantly checking with mom, I'm real pleased. My mom has been going for three meals and loves it, they've been wonderful. The Activities Director is fabulous, she went and sat down with my mom and talked to her about all the activities and introduced herself, they've been very forthcoming with trying to get her involved. Whenever I call and get the front desk, anybody who answers is willing to get me to whoever I need to speak to, so I'm very pleased. I feel like she has a bigger space, I definitely think it's a good value.

The facility was very clean and welcoming, it is the nicest place here in town. The couple of care staff I've met have been very nice. So far, her room has been clean and the maintenance staff were in the next day to fix a problem we had.

Management is good, they seem to care a lot and are easy to talk to and get ahold of, and they’re accessible. The food is good and I like the fact that the severs know what a lot of people are going to order and what they can eat, they steer them in the right direction. The staff do seem to take a personal interest in the residents, I like that they know their names. Maintenance is very good about getting up there right away and doing something, even changing a light bulb, he works hard. My mom uses the transportation services once every four months for the wheelchair lift and the drivers are great. I think the value is very good, it's certainly reasonable compared to the rest of the country and I think it's reasonable even for what's in town.

It was a big huge change for dad; we're only three months there. We've been quite pleased with services provided and his care, really. I would say now the care staff has been phenomenal in supporting us, and they're now doing his meds. I have absolutely no issues, Brenda and the care staff has been phenomenal. I never have a problem contacting them, they're always accessible. I think the housekeepers are down the line pretty good. The housekeeper is there every Friday; they're doing a fantastic job there. We've had just wonderful experiences with the managers. They are always so concerned and attentive. This is from Jessica to Deanna, everyone there is good. Dad's apartment is perfect, it's a studio, and the size is perfect. We couldn’t ask for anything better. We looked at other communities in the area and by far, Joshua Springs is better.

Joshua Springs is wonderful! Management, staff and the residents are all one big happy family! We moved away for awhile but missed it so much we are back for good. The food is great and the kitchen staff goes out of their way to try to please everyone. We have two small dogs and they are also a part of the big family. Right now we live independently but when the need for more care arises, I know we will be well taken care of! We’ve lived in other senior living facilities but none can compare to Joshua Springs!

My mother-in-law really loves her studio apartment. She picked it out because she said it made her feel safe since she could see everything. I think the dining room is very good. The activities I think are excellent. I think the little gal tries hard to get everyone involved. They decorate for the seasons around there and I like that. The care staff is good about crushing up the medication for my mother in law and talking to her while they administer it.

I've been here almost two years, and it's all good in Joshua Springs. The food's good, and I do bingo and other things. The Activities lady is very good. They're always putting stuff under our door and like that. The care giving team is also good, so is housekeeping. They keep our rooms clean, come in once a week and clean, wash our sheets, bathroom is totally wiped down. It's nice. The main guy in maintenance is good, knows a lot, but he doesn’t walk around. His team does, they're pretty good. I use the bus, the transportation service is great. This place is comfortable; it's a great place to stay.

My dad has lived here almost three years. He loves his room, it is one of the bigger corner units. We really enjoy the family dinners that are put on here. He really favors the ice cream socials. I think housekeeping, maintenance and care have all been good. They seem to do things in a timely fashion. The little med person comes around at about the same time every day. I'm just glad they built it at the time we needed it. It is the nicest one in our community.

The front desk is very friendly when I walk in and they answer any questions that I have. The front desk receptionist Danielle is a sweet heart and Jessica the finance director is as well. Carla and Jean are always very friendly and greet us when we dine with my mom. They should be treasured employees there. George is the maintenance guy and anything that you need to have done he will be right on it for you. The care givers treat my mom like she is family there. They console her if her anxiety is high. Kori the director of nursing is always available and always applies herself to anything that you need to talk about. She will sit in with the doctor with me. She is also very attentive. Her apartment is fine and just perfect.

The food is quite good, I understand it's balanced and I am satisfied with the service provided. When they come to clean her room, it's always nice and clean and I have seen no problems with maintenance. The management staff reaches out to me and stays in communication with me and I believe that's important. I haven't had any challenges with anyone at the facility at all. I think the facility itself is beautiful. For this city, I have to say it's the best facility, without a doubt. They're very kind people for sure. I think their activities are good. I know they have many things on a regular basis. I think they do a lot for their people, without a doubt. They did a great job integrating her into the facility when she moved in. I think the management staff truly cares about all of their clients. The caretakers are very friendly and they care, they're compassionate people. There are a lot of activities and they're increasing every month and they are always trying to make it better. I like the fact they're always trying to include outsiders and the family members there and trying to make it one big happy family. It's a great value. They are wonderful, everyone has been so accommodating and understanding, and very helpful. The caregivers are wonderful. It looks they're doing a great job facilitating for all the residents with things like Bingo. The food is delicious, I enjoyed it, I happily paid to have it with my mom. The omelet was perfect, I haven't had better in a restaurant, and the hash browns were fabulous. Both my parents are enjoying the food, they're very accommodating. As my dad progresses, my mom have to keep calling them to come, and she really appreciates their care and support. Everything was so clean. The housekeepers launder the bedding, my mom washes the clothing and she loves the laundry facility. It's been very convenient being only two blocks away.
