My sister and I just had a tour of Sunrise today and were so grateful for the first class professionalism ,warmth, and kindness we received from Dana!!Dana is a ray of sunshine full of great spirit and fun energy that was so pleasant to be surrounded by as we were trying to find the perfect place for our mom!!We felt like we were sitting with a friend , a family member ,as she truly understood what our moms needs were.Then in family style she asked Barbara, her co-team member, to join us as she could help give us a really great picture of the memory caregiving situation and offerings.Barbara was amazing as well, and continued the rest of the tour with us.Dana and Barbara''s team chemistry was such a gift to us , as my sister and I navigate this season of change with our mom , and finding her the best care possible as she is in mid range dementia.As we toured the premises, it was clear that Dana had wonderful , heartfelt connections with the residents!! You can clearly see that Dana loves being a part of her Sunrise family!!When my sister and I left today, we knew we had find the right place for our mom!!

I went here for a tour of the community as I am considering placing my grandmother in a home I have to say this is one of the nicest senior living communities I have ever visited. The residents seemed very happy every one of them that I came across. Staff was cheerful attentive and kind. Memory Care are in the two center floors each one with its own balcony area where the residents have small potted gardens. The rooms are fairly spacious however it seems the residents spend most of their time in the common areas engaging in fun activities. The food cooked there on site made to order for every resident is delicious. They served me chicken cacciatore which I have to say was perfectly cooked absolutely tender and delicious. The sales lady I met with named Dana was an absolute delight. She had a tremendous amount of positive energy she was all smiles and every resident we passed make sure to tell her hello or give her a hug. This community is what I would consider the Apex of senior living. It is also worth mentioning that they are just across the parking lot from a fire department meaning they have one of the fastest response times for any emergency care that they should require which is a mere 17 seconds. If you are considering putting your parent in a home and you want them to be happy and comfortable you definitely need to consider Sunshine assisted living. If you go to visit there I''m sure you''ll be just as pleased as I was. I cannot stress enough how wonderful of a place this is. Five stars all the way.

After exhaustive years long effort to persuade a close relative to consider assisted living, circumstances changed and the option was no longer a choice. Several hospital stays, rehab care, and countless professional''s suggestions to consider assisted living led us to Sunrise Playa Vista. The staff involved with introductory tours/application and assessments were exceptional in their professional attention, in their respect for the diagnosis the family was facing. Memory care requires an amazing amount of patience from family with an affected patient. Memory care involves ALL concerned, caregivers, patient, family and friends. Sunrise Playa Vista staff are very well trained, knowledgeable, experienced, compassionate and consistently aspire to protect the dignity of the residents, and take the time answer concerns of those responsible for their family member. We''ve had opportunity to see our relative thrive at Sunrise. The appearance, the spirits, the over-all health, nutrition, cleanliness, increased socialization, every aspect of daily living needs, are addressed, consistently, in a most individual and orderly fashion. Guests or residents who walk in the front door are greeted with the same kindness and demeanor by ALL the staff, from administration, to caregivers, and each and every staff person. During my visits I spend time on the entry level, and it is very comfortable for residents choosing to have a quiet reading spot, or dine in the on-site restaurant, or walk about, or sit on the patio. The memory floor is attentive (always) to the various & changing needs of the residents. Our family has visited often, and we are all grateful for the opportunity to have our family member reside at Sunrise Playa Vista.

I cannot thank the wonderful staff at Sunrise Playa Vista enough for the care they are providing to my mother. She has advanced Alzheimer''s disease but is physically active which makes her a challenging resident. Thankfully, the staff on her reminiscence floor are well skilled and know how to deal with her level of disease. They provide my mother with both physical and cognitive options throughout her day. For example, my mother was a housewife that loved to cook and bake and they let her help in the kitchen which makes her feel useful and needed. In addition, she is part of their walking club and goes on several walks every day, plays bingo and participates in senior bowling. My mother is safe, well cared for and adjusting very well to her new home. The Executive Director, Shannon, and the Reminiscence Director, Barbara, are truly extraordinary women that are compassionate and hands on. Barbara has helped me so much and been such an active part of getting my mother''s needs met. I cannot thank her enough. This quality leadership is reflected in the care givers and staff that work so hard with all of the residents. Every time I set foot onto that 4th floor I see happy, well cared for residents engaged in meaningful activities. I think the biggest compliment I can give Sunrise Playa Vista is moving my father into their assisted living community. He recently suffered some health problems and needs 24 hour care. Because of the positive experience with my mother''s care , Sunrise Playa Vista was the obvious choice!

I moved my mother into Sunrise of Playa Vista on March 23, 2019. The Assisted Living Coordinator, Chauncey Brown, picked her up at her previous location and helped make the transition go smoothly as I stayed behind and worked with the movers. Everyone at the facility, Shannon Howell (Executive Director), Theresa Mack (Director of Sales), Jean Shoemaker (Business Office Coordinator), Linda Cartwright (Resident Care Director) Amy (Wellness Nurse), Barbara Tabb (Reminiscence Coordinator) and Latoya Johnson (Activities and Volunteer Coordinator) took an immediate interest in my mother’s well being. When we needed help, the service was immediately provided - for example, moving a few pieces of furniture around, hanging up photos, fixing a knob on a closet. The above mentioned persons all worked as a team to make it an easy transition. When my mother needs assistance, whether she pushes her pendant, pulls the emergency chord or screams out loud for help, somebody immediately comes to her aid. It’s a comfortable feeling for me to know that my mother is being monitored closely. Whether it’s her pills, sugar level, making it to meals, getting through the night, dealing with pain, etc., the staff is taking care of her needs. Thus far, I really like my mother’s Care Managers, especially Bri. They take an interest in helping my mother no matter what her mood is like. When we first arrived, I found my mother’s laundry neatly folded, and as I began to hang up her clothes, Bri came in and mentioned that she would do this weekly for my mother. My mom has a specific way of wanting all her clothes to be color coordinated and hung in a specific direction. Bri does this for her weekly. When I think of Sunrise of Playa Vista, what comes to my mind, is the friendliness of each individual staff member and how each person tries to give my mom dignity in a very kind manner. Each time I enter the facility, I find it alive, active and clean. I definitely recommend Sunrise of Playa Vista if your love one cannot live on his or her own any more.

My father has been living at Sunrise Playa Vista for over a year. At first he liked it. But now he hates it. Says the food is terrible. The cost is outrageous. I am moving him out this month.
