My parents moved in when Sage Mountain first opened and loved the newness and beauty of the facility. The original staff was wonderful with the residents. However, most have moved to other facilities or jobs seeking better pay. Staff turnover, 4 managers in 2 years, and a sale to a corporate company has led to serious safety concerns, lack of communication between the facility and residents as well as the facility and family members, diminishing amenities, inconsistent housekeeping and laundry services, and less than stellar food options. For the amount of money this place charges its residents, the service and food should be top-notch. Sadly, it is not. 2-4 hour response time for emergency buttons is not safe. Most recently, management and the corporate office failed to notify the entire community (as required by law) that there was an outbreak of covid cases in the memory care unit residents) as well as several staff members. Testing was delayed for the entire community due to a lack of planning with test supplies. Instead of notifying the community or finding alternate testing sources, the facility kept quiet. My parents tested positive and were forced to relocate to a room on another floor. They got no advance notice of the move and were informed by two men they had never met before who knocked on their door and told them they were moving their bed. My parents were placed into a room with no tv, internet access, or phone for several days. Prior to this event, I would have given Sage Mountain 3 stars. After this event, I would give them no stars if I could. We are looking for a new place for my parents.
