It might seem overblown to give this retirement community 5 stars on everything but I assure you they are well-earned. 

A brief summary: My wife has been the primary care giver for her father. She had been away from home 4-5 days per week, traveling 3+ hours each way weekly for over six months. When they decided to move him near us, I was asked to locate & tour a number of care facilities in Ventura County. After searching the web I found Assisted Living Connections in Ventura County who helped me find options. (ps: they are great) I visited a number of options and found many to be dark, gloomy, basically clean but unpleasant surroundings. I was able to narrow the list fairly quickly. We landed at the Ventura Town House & compared to other options out there this place is like a cross between a Four Seasons and a cruise ship. My wife and I took their tour, I was very skeptical assuming the sales pitch was just another pitch. In reality, she under promised and since they have over delivered. We wanted an active social life and a staff with good people skills. We are we happy with this group, trust me, when it comes to her father she is hard to please! We have found their dedication, professionalism, knowledge and most importantly (for my wife) their caring and compassion for her father invaluable. I highly recommend this facility. I recommend Ventura Townehouse with the highest rating possible!

This place is unprofessional and discriminates against workers who have disabilities. Chef Bryan is a mean, inconsiderate, hypocrite!! You should treat ALL if your worker''s with respect.!

I''m impressed with Ventura Townhouse. It''s difficult to find good elder care and I''ve seen most facilities in the Ventura/Oxnard area from the worst to the best. There''s no perfect place, but Ventura Townhouse is well-staffed, bright, open, friendly, and offers 24/7 concierge service. Nancy Borgnine is a wonderful director and truly cares about the residents and their morale. I highly recommend Ventura Townhouse for senior assisted living.

If it wasn’t COVID, it might have been all ok, and my parents in law could have had a nice life in the last stage of their life. They moved in there in the middle of March 2020, just before COVID was going to get a national attention, and which is the worst timing. Two weeks after they moved in, my mother in law passed away there with a hospice care. It was due to her natural cause of death. It was hard for us not allowed to visit her when we wanted due to the COVID restrictions. My father in law caught a COVID while he lived there and passed away in the hospital in the middle of January 2021, with his son attending over the glass window. He first had symptoms a little after Christmas. We saw him last before thanksgiving by an appointment, outside the building, over the table, with a mask on. I know they took their measures carefully, and most importantly, residents were not allowed to go out of the facility since COVID started. But it must not have been enough if there were staff members who were positive whether he or she knew about it. I felt like we should have taken him back to our house if the senior home wasn’t the safe place. It’s too late.. And they keep sending us a bill after the tenant passed and everything in his unit were moved by my husband.
