Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: How do I know if Northglenn Heights is right for me?

Northglenn Heights is an assisted living community offering non-medical care for older adults who need mild to moderate assistance with their activities of daily living. Their services are tailored for people who need help getting around the house, eating, dressing, or who need medication management. As such, they are not equipped to provide some senior care services, like skilled nursing care. To live at Northglenn Heights, a person must be sure the community can meet their care needs or they may not be admitted as a resident.

To find out if Northglenn Heights is a viable option for senior care, prospective residents can ask themselves the following questions about their level of care:

  • Does the person require ongoing health care or medical attention?
  • Is the person non-ambulatory or permanently confined to their beds?
  • Does the person need long-term rehabilitation?
  • Does the person have memory loss, Alzheimer's or dementia?

Unlike nursing homes, assisted living and independent living communities like Northglenn Heights are not licensed to provide ongoing health care. Their staff is not equipped to treat residents with skilled nursing care and the community may not admit a person who requires daily medical assistance for their safety. The same principle applies to people who are non-ambulatory or confined to their beds: Northglenn Heights is not properly equipped to care for them and may suggest other nearby senior care facilities that offer more suitable treatment.

Alternatively, the community is well-suited for people with Alzheimer's disease and dementia thanks to their exceptional In the Moment® memory care program. The In the Moment® program offers memory care services tailored for people living with Alzheimer's and dementia. Provided a person’s dementia symptoms do not require ongoing medical attention (like dementia-related incontinence), Northglenn Heights may be a suitable option for Alzheimer’s care.

To learn more about the community’s personal care services and admission requirements for assisted living residents, use the link above to make an inquiry.

Q: How do I know if the Northglenn Heights In the Moment® memory care program is right for me?

If a person is living with early to late-stage Alzheimer's disease or dementia, the Northglenn Height In the Moment® program might be right for them. The program offers specialized services for people with memory impairments, creating a nurturing environment for them to live and flourish. The memory care community's staff use structured activities to stimulate their minds and help them live with memory loss, along with assisting them with their daily activities.

To learn more about the memory care community and Northglenn Heights' care options for people with Alzheimer's and dementia, use the links above to make an inquiry or schedule a tour. Seeing Northglenn Heights in person gives prospective residents a chance to speak with the staff and ask questions about the community’s memory care services. The caregivers may explain how their dementia care programs differ from other communities in the area and discuss how they use activities to help people living with Alzheimer's.

Q: Is Northglenn Heights pet-friendly?

Yes! All memory care and assisted living residents are welcome to have one small animal in their apartment. To learn more about the community’s pet policy, use the link above to make an inquiry.

Q: Does Northglenn Heights offer short-term care programs for people who receive in-home care?

Caregiving is an important job, but everyone needs a break once in a while. When a person’s family caregiver takes time away from their duties, they can get substitute respite care from Northglenn Heights for up to 30 consecutive days. The community’s respite care program offers the same services as their assisted living program and short-term residents can enjoy the community’s social activities during their stay.

To learn more about respite care at Northglenn Heights, families can use the link above to make an inquiry.

Q: How much does it cost to live at Northglenn Heights?

Northglenn Heights does not charge every resident the same monthly fee. How much each person pays per month depends on the size of their apartments and their level of care, with smaller apartments costing less than large floor plans. The community assesses a base rental fee that includes each person’s room and board, meals, and housekeeping. As residents need additional services, the community charges them appropriately.
