My mother has been a resident for over three years. She's justifiably dissatisfied & will be moving out. Management is completely unresponsive to needs. Don't believe that your parent will be treated as family. They most certainly are not. Activities are without any creative thought or effort. Any suggestions are ignored. Wait time for meals is long. Staff are not adequately trained & dining room staff are quite rude & argue with residents. Ask three people a simple question & you'll get three different answers, assuming you can get an answer. Food isn't well-prepared or presented. Food quality is poor, tasteless & continues to go downhill. Minor, & not minor, apartment repairs take months. Five Star's response to the COVID pandemic is egregious. They refused free testing by the health dept. Only after repeated pressure that included taking the story to local TV news, did Five Star offer their own testing & gave residents only two days to get an Rx from their doctors. Just one example of how little they care about resident welfare & safety. When a resident was hospitalized with COVID, it took a week for the community to be notified. Communication on every level regarding anything is terrible. No value for the cost. Strongly don't recommend.
