My mother and my late father made a great decision 14 years ago when my father learned he had cancer. In spite of his illness, they have been happy, independent, safe and self sufficient. By moving to HFV, they gave those same gifts to me. I knew they were happy and I was able to live my life without constant worry. They live(d) independently but receive support when they need it for getting to doctor appointments, going to the shops and enjoying meals. Instead of sitting home alone all winter, Dad enjoyed a rich social life, right up until his last days. During the pandemic, HFV was exceptional. They delivered mom’s meals every day (2 times a day) and kept visitors away until it was safe. My 90 year old mom stayed healthy and received the vaccine at the village as soon as it was available. I am very grateful for the caring community in which my mother still lives.
