My father moved to Maple Vista two weeks ago. So far, he has settled in quite well. He's enjoying it there. He said their food is great and he's starting to make friends and he's starting to fit into the community. I'm exceptionally happy with the choice that I made. The house manager, Becky, is amazing. She does very well addressing your needs or concerns in a very timely fashion. They have large apartments and then they have single rooms that are like studio apartments and then a 2-room apartment size. They have a bus where they have shopping excursions, they have chair yoga, religious services, and music time. They have a movie area. They have a huge calendar that is posted up by the dining room. At the beginning of each week, each resident gets a copy of the meals that are going to be served at breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the entire week. The meals are included in his rent. The facility is perfect. All the walkways are covered. Everything is kept neat and clean and tidy. Included in his rent are his utilities and cable, he also wears an alert bracelet in case he falls or anything like that.

My mom is in Maple Vista. It's close to us, the prices are good, and they've always had good care. They need to do more maintenance. The meals used to be a lot better, but with the costs of the food, it's to be expected. The staff members are very caring, and their attitude is good. The men like the...

My mom is in Maple Vista. It's close to us, the prices are good, and they've always had good care. They need to do more maintenance. The meals used to be a lot better, but with the costs of the food, it's to be expected. The staff members are very caring, and their attitude is good. The men like the food, it's a lot of carbohydrates, and a lot of casseroles, but my mom likes lighter food and vegetables. They don't have a lot of choices. Before COVID, they had a lot of activities, and they offered bingo and trips. They have a salon, a small gym, a pool room, and a pool table.

Our experience at Maple Vista has been good to date. The smaller community size is good for the residents to get along. Three meals a day is a good plan, very good value for the money. Our experience at Maple Vista has been good to date. The smaller community size is good for the residents to get along. Three meals a day is a good plan, very good value for the money. I do wish they had more staff available during the evening hours. The buildings are older but remodeled so they are simple but they provide very well, the walkways are outside so the winter can be challenging. Comparison to a hotel/motel. Redwood inn to a Marriot.

When he signed up, it sounded like he would get a lot of extra things included, but that's not necessarily the case. But it's been a good place overall. They're a nonprofit and don't have a lot of staff. But the staff are nice and helpful. Housekeeping has been great. The grounds are not kept up as much, but they do the best they can with what they have. He likes the food but wishes there was more variety. I think the value is pretty good considering you get three meals a day, utilities, rent, and light housekeeping included. And overall it has been working out for him. Before moving in, he was a shut-in, and Maple Vista allows him to have daily contact with people and get out walking and moving more, which has been good for him.

The visit to Maple Vista was very nice and very good. My wife went with us and we enjoyed it. My mother seems to be pleased too so I would say it's very positive, as of this point. We decided on it for my mom because it is so close, about a half-mile away from where I live so it was one of those no-brainers. Of course, if it's a nice place, I'm going to take her there. What I like most is that they have meals, gathering areas, and all that. The least, I don't know whether it's going to continue, but they have a mask mandate. My mother might be able to tolerate it and, in her home, she's going to not have to worry about that. It's not that bad. I think when they go into the public areas like in the cafeteria and the reading room, that's maybe when they would want to do that. The staff that we had on the tour was very good. We saw a room that was a suite with a bedroom on the side and it's all open. The kitchen was small, the refrigerator was kind of small and low too. The only issue I saw was that she's got to bend down for the refrigerator. We may bring in an extra small refrigerator so she doesn't have to bend down so far. The living room seemed spacious enough, I thought it was nice, and it was very clean.

My Aunt will be moving into Maple Vista. What I liked about it is that it has three meals a day and housekeeping once a week. It has an emergency medical alert pen, and it's got laundry onsite. It has a hair facility on site. They have activities and transportation. Most important for my aunt, she wanted to have pets; there was a one-time pet fee, so that was good for her. The location is really good because I'm only like 12 miles away. The staff was very helpful, her name's Crystal; she is the office manager. The rooms are small, but they're livable. They got everything she needs in there. It's got 1-bedroom, a little living room, a little kitchen, and a bath. The kitchen is right up the dining area. It's located right in the center of the facility. They've got the rooms on each side of the dining area so that the people that live there can come from all directions. The sidewalks have a cover over the top of them. Rain can get in there somewhat, if the rain comes in and it gets blown in there. But there's a covering over the walkway so that when they walk from their rooms to the dining room, they should not get wet. The dining room is nice. It's on the right-hand side, right off the kitchen, and then on the left-hand side, there's a little sitting room in between. Also, on the left-hand side is a big meeting room where they do activities and stuff like that. It looks like everything's well in order. They have a little community garden. She has everything she needs, and there's going to be a lot of people around there. She'll have community, food, care, and transportation, you can't ask for much more. There's a Catholic church out front, too. You could walk to the church if you wanted to join their church. I met the kitchen gentleman, and he's the one that went to get me a packet on Saturday. Then Crystal's been excellent, we've been communicating back and forth. I don't think it's landscaped to the hilt or anything, but it's taken care of pretty well. So far, we're pretty happy. We'll see how she does. She's going to be very happy; she wants her own place really bad, and I think this is just ideal for her.
