Communication with family could be improved. I have had to call to get information that I felt should have been communicated with me directly. When my husband fell out of bed, I got a call from someone who had a very heavy accent and I could barely understand what she was saying. I had to call my husband to find out what happened and if he was hurt. I thought we would be given more information on how to find a permanent place to live that would accommodate our health needs and be handicap accessible. I had someone call but the place he was going to recommend didn't work for us and so I was given a website to find something on my own. I believe my husband is getting good care and that his PT is coming along. I am just overwhelmed with what needs to be done with our living situation for the future.

I feel I had a better experience with Assisted Living than the Long Term Community. My loved one transitioned from Assisted Living to the other stages of the community. We ended up making the decision to move my loved one to a new community. The reason for the move was due to a community restroom and not having a private bath available. I wish the cleanliness in the long term care area would have been a bit better. The staff tried very hard. My loved one really enjoyed the aides that worked with them.

My Grandmother resided at this facility for many years. God bless her, she passes at 102 years old. She spent 5+ years. Over the years precious family items went missing. My Grandmother resided at this facility for many years. God bless her, she passes at 102 years old. She spent 5+ years. Over the years precious family items went missing. From pots and pans, 100 year old Christmas decorations, and finally when she could not defend herself, the wedding ring was pulled off her hand. All along the way when reported to the office, nothing was done or recovered. It has been devastating to my family. I would not recommend this care facility to anyone!

Father went in to regain a little strength after a hospital stay. Someone from the family was usually with him in the AM and PM. Almost every day there was some issue. Care of a external medical device was a issue. Staff didn't understand proper handling and either we're to inept or didn't care how to handle, and didn't bother to ask either family member or nurse how to handle. This was serious enough that it could lead to re-hospitalization. Also for some insane reason canceled a doctor's appointment that was set up for him months ago, which was for after he was to discharged from St. Therese. Said it was there policy to cancel any appointments patient have scheduled will a patient with them. WHAT!!! Now it's going to take months to wait for another appointment he was already waiting for months on. Didn't bother to ask my mom who sets up all his appointments.... Gave two stars because some of the staff are nice people, would have received one otherwise. Disorganized and inept.

If you are considering St. Therese as a place for your loved one, you should know that they are very short staffed. My heart really goes out to the nurses and aids who work so hard there. I had to be there a lot for my dad until he died. I set the tables for dinner in the dining room many times. I had to chase down help for my dad to get help in his room. Just know that that the staff can't handle it all. Don't get me wrong, the nurses and aids are nice, but you need to be a firm advocate for your loved ones needs. I also faught hard for my dad to get his hearing aids put in everyday. They finally got tired of my demand and he got his hearing aids. His hearing aids also went through the wash. His glasses got lost a couple of times. His new watch went in the washing machine. I personally do not feel that should happen. Just be there to take care of your loved one.
