Claiborne at Hattiesburg Independent Living

My Father was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer back in [date removed]. Both he and my Mother were requiring several trips per week to hospital (Forrest General), and I helped convince them that The Claiborne was the best place for them and their needs. They were able to make many friends there, and the fact that they were able to socialize with others in very similar condition as them really helped with their sense of NOT feeling sorry for themselves. Actually, they got involved in many of the activities that the staff at the Claiborne put on. The food was very good and they really had a sense of community there. In fact, I can honestly say that my Father probably squeezed an extra year of life out as a result of living here. My parents were happy, well cared for, and always looking forward to the next day. I can't think the staff at The Claiborne Independent living enough for everything they have done for my family. Thank you!

Great place, but the food is discussing!!!! Definitely not getting what we are paying for.

Claiborne at Hattiesburg Independent Living is close to where my family is. I like that the apartments did not look like hospital rooms. I looked at several and they just kind of look like a little hospital room there. It's independent living and the place is beautiful. This staff is nice and accommodating during my tour. The restaurant was beautiful and the place was really good. It was just what I was looking for. They were extremely helpful to me because I've never lived in an apartment so I had a lot of questions. I only ate just one lunch there, but lunch was their big meal of the day and it was very good. It was a shrimp dish. There was no problem with anything in the apartment I'm getting. They're redoing and painting it. Anything that I need before I move in so I thought that they were pretty great on that. It's off of Highway 11, which is the highway that goes just south of Harrisburg. From there, if you want to take your car or the bus or whatever they have there, it's just kind of centrally located so it's a good location.

The staff members are friendly, wonderful and have been very accommodating since the day they moved in. They are really liking it and they have been very proactive about keeping the residents safe. Our loved ones really enjoy the community setting and being able to mingle with the other residents. The staff members are friendly, wonderful and have been very accommodating since the day they moved in. They are really liking it and they have been very proactive about keeping the residents safe. Their only complaint is the food, they say it is absolutely terrible.

I toured The Claiborne at Hattiesburg. Just great. Not sure if that's gonna be a good fit for my dad, but we'll see. The facility is wonderful. The staff was very friendly. It was very well-kept. The activities are limited right now because of COVID.
