My mother has been a resident for a little over a year. She was not in favor of transitioning to assisted living (from rehab) and as expected, wanted very badly to go home. After an initial adjustment period, she was very happy to be a resident there. The staff members are very caring, attentive and seem to enjoy working with the residents. The facilities are clean and well maintained inside and out. They offer a regular calendar of activities in the facility, which are often fun, uplifting and imaginative. I know that whenever I call to voice a concern regarding my mother, someone will be available to address my concern or will call me back within a reasonable time period and in fact, the attention she receives is personalized enough that the staff actually reached out to me when they noticed my mother seemed more tired than usual and offered to have the visiting physician look in on her. The only opportunity for improvement I can suggest would be to perhaps offer more outside activities to a wider group of residents with varying abilities so that everyone gets an opportunity to get out, especially those with no family nearby. All in all, I am very happy with The Pines of Newmarket and the care they provide to my mother, which provides wonderful peace of mind to the entire family.
I am an employee of The Pines, and it is a place I would entrust with a family member. The staff are all incredibly caring and diligent, and they all come to work each day trying their best to improve the lives of our residents. We are constantly trying to improve and give the maximum effort. It is an honor to be invited into the lives of our residents and their families.
