The Director of Yancey House was very responsive. She was willing to look at a future resident as a whole person and not only his illness. It a refreshing to have that type of hands-on care.

I am associated with this facility for 6 years. I have a family member who lived here. The building and the grounds are beautiful and even the rooms are nice. But don't be fooled by esthetics. They say they have a diabetic friendly menu and they also say they have activities daily for the residents. This is bullshit!!. They say they have a full time activities director but 75% of the time they are being used as a CNA on the floor. They should offer elderly friendly food but they are served tomatoes sandwiches or and I have witnessed this...2 pieces of stale bread with ham n cheese...no condiments. Or runny tuna salda and broccoli salad both full of mayo served with a lettuce leaf. Does this sound like a place you were stick your mother and father?
