We moved our Dad into Our Family Home on Bramblewood Circle in March of 2015 after a year and a half at another memory care facility. It was a difficult decision as we knew that transitions in that stage of Dad’s Alzheimer’s disease could prove difficult. However, we felt that the benefits would outweigh the costs associated with this type of move. We strongly felt that Dad’s needs were not being adequately addressed where he was. The difference (and relief) that we all felt after moving Dad was measurable! For one thing, the worry I had about Dad not being well cared for, began to melt away immediately. I began sleeping better as I no longer woke up during the night anxious about his care. The kind and compassionate staff put us all at ease. And seeing the attention Dad was receiving was such a relief. He made the transition flawlessly because of the loving, consistent approach of the Caregivers. In January of 2017 our family decided to move our Mother into Our Family Home with Dad after her recent stroke. They were able to spend the last 8 months of Dad’s life together while being taken care of by the attentive Caregivers. It was such a blessing to have them together again and it made our visits so much more enjoyable. We celebrated their 67th Wedding Anniversary in April of last year with a big family party at Our Family Home! It was a joyful day filled with wonderful memories for all of us. Dad left us in September and again we were comforted by the same Caregivers that have become “our family”. Their ongoing excellent care of our Mother brings us such comfort.
