The woman who gave me the tour at American House Macedonia was the nicest lady ever. She was probably the most informative person I've talked to at an assisted living facility. I don't remember her name, but she was very thorough and very helpful. She was awesome. The rooms were very nice and very clean. The dining area was very nice, and it seemed like there was a lot of staff helping the residents in the dining area. They had a movie theater, a pub, and art classes. I saw a lot of crafting, art, and painting. The setting of the facility was the prettiest. If I was going to go there, it would be convenient for everything.

I have a relative there and over the past few years the service has become terrible. They cannot keep ant help-kitchen and clinical. They serve hotdogs, pizza and grilled cheese sandwiches to clients-so much for chef prepared meals. When visiting I came down the hall to find 2 medical assistants in ...

I have a relative there and over the past few years the service has become terrible. They cannot keep ant help-kitchen and clinical. They serve hotdogs, pizza and grilled cheese sandwiches to clients-so much for chef prepared meals. When visiting I came down the hall to find 2 medical assistants in the lounge with there feet up on a table and texting on their phones. When my family member was sick and taken to the ER I was not notified and I had to bring food and drink to them when they returned back to the facility. When they fell and used emergency call button, they waited 30 minutes on the floor for someone to come and assist. I would recommend that anyone considering this place talk with the residents when the employees are not around to get a true idea of what goes on.

I loved American House Macedonia. They had a lot of great amenities, but I realized that a lot of the things I loved were things that I liked rather than what my loved one liked. It was just not the right fit for her but I would definitely recommend the facility.

Our mother was admitted to the memory care unit, and we found that the staff were not trained and were actually ill-equipped - they did not know how to manage a true Alzheimer's patient. We did not have a good experience. Our mother was admitted to the memory care unit, and we found that the staff were not trained and were actually ill-equipped - they did not know how to manage a true Alzheimer's patient. Our mother was provided no direction. She lost weight. She developed infections. She developed behaviors - because there was no oversight by the staff. They just did not know how to handle a true Alzheimer's patient. And there's a big difference between Alzheimer's and dementia. With the leadership, initially they voiced concern to what I had to say. But they lacked follow through on the concerns and on what hey said they would do. Near the end, they were totally dismissive of our concerns.

We had a horrific experience at this community. This community called me to pick my loved up about a day after I dropped him off for respite care. There was a lot emotionally that this experience caused. I would say to stay away and not even consider this community.

My mother-in-law moved into the American House Macedonia. They have wonderful communication. They allowed us to be with my mother-in-law in the transition. Unfortunately, she has fallen, and is back in the hospital. It's apartment style, and they offer I think five different floor plans. That was nice to have: a choice. We chose one that we thought was appropriate for her, and none of them are huge. The do offer activities, and it seems like that was one of the areas we were pleased with, the amount of activities that they offered. She's not taking part in the activities, the dining activities, we're a little concerned, and because each resident has a right to say yes or no, they don't seem to be persuading her. We're not allowed in the facility, but we feel confident though that she's in a good place. They have a courtyard, they do offer a salon, and they have a media room, which is really nice. I've only interacted with Amy, and she's wonderful.
