Shurmer Place at Altenheim

My mother lived in Shurmer Place for three and half years. The staff were caring and responsive. Her apartment was clean and the facility was lovely.

The nursing staff, the aides, the maintenance men, and the activities staff are kind and caring. They took exceptional care of my mother. Our family felt comfortable, knowing she was in good hands. We were also reassured that if she needed skilled nursing, rehab, or memory care services, facilities were right there on the Altenheim campus. This continuum of care is a big plus.

The genuine loving care they took to care for our mother will comfort our hearts for the rest of our lives knowing how well she was cared for with love, light, patience and laughter.

I have been working her at Shurmer Place for 5 years now. I started off as a Dietary Aide and now I am a receptionist. This job has opened up a lot of opportunities for me. They have always been flexible with my schedule - especially now that I am completing my last year at CSU. This job overall has thought me a lot of skills I will need later on in life. Being around the residents and the diversity of the faculty have encouraged me to be more understanding and open-minded.

Wonderful care, a place that i can trust for my loved ones! Only of the only places i know that has everything you need in one place.

Family member had wonderful experience while coming back from a total hip surgery. Staff was friendly on the unit in helping answer our questions and knowing what we were getting in and how long before she could come home. Nice new facility and open space.
