FAQ:

Q: How do I know if Keystone Villa at Ephrata is right for me?

As an assisted living community, Keystone Villa at Ephrata offers residential care services for people who need a mild to moderate amount of daily assistance. The community’s caregivers assist people with bathing, dressing, eating, meal preparation, housekeeping, and medication management.

Non-medical residential care is not a substitution for skilled nursing care. There are a few questions people can ask themselves to determine if assisted living is a viable option, according to their capabilities and daily needs:

  • Is the person confined to their bed, or are they ambulatory?
  • Does the person require ongoing medical attention?
  • Does the person have Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or short-term memory loss?
  • Does the person need therapy or rehabilitation?

To qualify for Keystone Villa at Ephrata, a person may not be confined to their bed permanently. Being ambulatory is a requirement for all residents, including those in assisted living, independent living, memory care, and respite care.

The same principle applies to people who need ongoing medical care. The community is not equipped to provide continuous health care services for its residents and may not be suitable for people who need daily skilled nursing care. A care adviser can help interested parties learn more about their eligibility, based on their daily needs and physical aptitude.

However, Keystone Villa at Ephrata graciously welcomes people with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and short-term memory loss. The community’s In the Moment® program is specially designed for people with Alzheimer’s disease, where staff provide state-of-the-art dementia care. The program assists people with all stages of Alzheimer’s and dementia, creating a secure environment where they feel safe and appreciated.

The In the Moment® memory care community has the same basic qualifications as assisted living - all residents must be ambulatory, and they may not require ongoing medical care. To learn more about the community’s admission requirements or to ask questions about their residential care services, prospective residents can use the link above to make an inquiry. Alternatively, the community offers tours where people can ask questions in person and see the apartments, common areas, and dining room for themselves. Touring the community is the most popular way people determine if Keystone Villa at Ephrata is right for them, making it easy to compare the residence to other assisted living facilities in the area. Interested parties can schedule a free tour using the link above.

Q: How do I know if Keystone Villa at Ephrata’s In the Moment® memory care program is right for me or my family member?

Navigating Alzheimer's and dementia can be challenging. As the symptoms progress, people may need help with their day-to-day activities, making retirement living a popular option for older adults with short-term memory loss or memory impairments. Fortunately, Keystone Villa’s In the Moment® program offers tailored memory care for people who need help adjusting to life with Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Caregivers assist memory support residents with their activities of daily living, provide medication management, and offer housekeeping to make their lives simpler and worry-free. They work with each person one-on-one, getting to know them personally so they can provide accurate, individualized care. When they are not helping residents with their daily activities, caregivers participate in wellness programs and structured activities to help residents thrive. They use proven methods to stimulate their minds and memory, making them feel appreciated and understood along the way.

Keystone Villa accepts people with all stages of Alzheimer’s and dementia, provided they are ambulatory and do not require daily medical attention. The community’s memory care services are exclusively non-medical, and their Alzheimer's care programs may not be suitable for someone who needs ongoing skilled nursing care.

To learn more about Keystone Villa’s dementia care services and their In the Moment® admission requirements, prospective residents can make an inquiry using the link above. Alternatively, residents can schedule a tour above to meet the community’s staff in-person and see the residence.

Q: Does Keystone Villa at Ephrata offer short-term care programs?

Keystone Villa at Ephrata offers temporary respite care programs alongside their long-term care options. Their respite care services are ideal for people who receive in-home care and who need temporary assistance while their caregivers are away. People who receive in-home care can come to the community for around-the-clock care and enjoy the same amenities as long-term care residents during their stay.

To learn more about the community’s short-term respite care options, make an inquiry using the link above or schedule a tour of the facility.

Q: How much does Keystone Villa at Ephrata cost?

Each person’s total monthly cost depends on their level of care, their apartment’s floor plan, and their living arrangement. The community charges each resident a base rental fee that covers their room and board, housekeeping, linen services, and meals. As residents need additional services, the community adjusts their monthly dues.

Living with a roommate or choosing a modest floor plan can reduce the cost of living for incoming Keystone Villa residents. Interested parties can use the “Get Pricing” link above for a personalized monthly cost estimate, according to their needs and preferred living options.

I really like working Keystone Villa and the staff there. They have an excellent nursing department which works closely with their resident's medical providers to realize positive outcomes for our patients. I have found all of their staff, from management to caregivers to be very compassionate. I would place my own parent in their community, without hesitation.

Paul at 17 Oct 2018:
Sometimes I think they cook the vegetables a little too long. They get a bit mushy but other than that this place is lovely. It is very clean. Everyone is so nice. I really do enjoy living here.

It is a wonderful place to work, where everyone knows one another and cooperates across all departments and any task. Our residents always come first and we are lucky to get to work where they live!

Many people want to stay at home, but they don't realize how lonely they become at home. The great part about moving to Keystone Villa is being with people, great activities and the chance to share your stories with new friends. The staff is very accommodating and pleasant and I can speak to them about any problems I may have and they are willing to help work it out!

Ida at 10 Oct 2018:
This is an excellent place. It was hard to get used to and at first, was a little rough. I was on my own for so long and that's what I was used to. Then I realized how excellent this place is. It is beautiful and so clean. Cleanliness was important to me. The other thing I really like is that everyone is so respectful. It is just a really nice place to live.

Ted at 10 Oct 2018:
A couple of years ago, I joked that I was going to move in and here I am. I love that it is so close to everything and I can walk to Main St. All of the people, the ones who live here and the ones who work here, are all so nice.

I didn't know how it would go. Mom is not really a joiner but boy does she love the musical programs. There are musical programs sometimes a couple of times a week. It has really made a difference for her. She also made some friends. They have so many places they go on the bus. I was really surprised but she does go along at times with her friends. I am glad we decided on moving her here.

Rich at 08 Oct 2018:
I am not going to lie. This is different than living at home. However, everything is going very well. The staff is all very polite which makes nice especially when you need help.
