Savannah Place

The service is not up to standard. One day I came to the room and Rap music was being played on the TV. My father's sheets were not changed either. At the beginning, the place wasn't bad but I notice over time the staff began to slack off.

The salesperson who gave us the tour at Savannah Place was very knowledgeable. Her name was Tasha, and she knew what to go through and was in-tuned with what was going on in the facility. The place itself was very nice. My concern was this place seemed to have more women in it and fewer men currently there so it didn't seem like a good match for my brother. But it was a very nice facility and it had an outdoor garden area or atrium area. They were going to have volunteers come in and help the residents plant gardens and be able to eat their own food from the garden, so I think that was nice. Their rooms were just recently updated and were very nice. I saw amenities and a different list of what's going on each day, so they had activities planned for people onsite. We saw the people playing card games and puzzles in the common area, it was very clean and nice and the rooms were recently renovated and done with luxury vinyl flooring. It was a clean and nice facility, and it was locked because it's assisted living, so it's not an open campus, unlike the other independent living place that I also saw.

Savannah Place was nice. The tour guide was very friendly, outgoing, very willing to share information, and checked on me even a couple of days later. The rooms were nice and clean. I would have no problem with my dad going there. It looked like everybody was happy there. Some people were hanging out in the community area, too, and they had a courtyard area.

The dinner meal consists of sandwiches, which is not enough food or nutritional value for the residents. They don't have a lot of activities planned in which the residents can participate. The dinner meal consists of sandwiches, which is not enough food or nutritional value for the residents. They don't have a lot of activities planned in which the residents can participate. As far as the building, it's modern and very up-to-date. It has a good appearance from the outside as well as the inside. They seem to be always short-staffed, and therefore immediate attention is not provided. The specifics for the level of care need to be identified to the family, vs. them saying that they have evaluated the resident and will provide the necessary services. I would advise you to ask management to define what are the types of services you will be receiving for the level of care.

I visited Savannah Place. They were very nice and very well informed and showed us a couple of different rooms. I like their rooms better than the other place. I met the lady who gave us the tour and I met the administrator and they were both very nice, very well informed, and very amicable. The room was a little larger and laid out much nicer. There weren't any activities going on at the time we were there, but they say they have different ones at different times. It was a very clean facility and very well laid out. I've known other people that have been at that facility, so it was good to see the place for a change. A few people were moving around in there, but it was a pretty quiet facility. The building itself and the grounds were excellent and well kept. We saw the dining area and they showed us their menus and what was available to the residents. The dining area was very nice and laid out in an open style.

The negatives were we moved my dad in in November and the staff were in a state of turnover and no one had really been there that long. There was a new director, nurse, receptionist, etc. No one really knew much but it is not their fault. The residents who were here needed a lot more care than he did so he really did not have anyone to interact with which is why we moved him out. The facility was very nice and I thought it was a good value for the money. The staff that were there were very friendly and helpful as well. I would recommend them to others, it just was not the right fit for my dad.
