Watercrest Mansfield

They have been outstanding in dealing with my mother. Watercrest is the perfect place for my mother. She can age in place and receive excellent care regardless of the segment she is in.

We toured Watercrest at Mansfield. It was great overall. Our tour guide was very informative and showed us everything. We were very pleased with it. We're impressed with our guide who interviewed us, took us around and showed us some rooms. Everything looked clean and sanitary. The other residents were very happy. The rooms we saw were very nice and clean. It looks like they have everything that a person would need. It was very well organized. We were in the dining area, which was also nice and clean. The people were very friendly and helpful. We were there maybe an hour or so. They were having an ice cream social at the time, so we went down and had ice cream with some of the staff. They have a swimming pool, trails, and arts and crafts. They have a little movie theater, a game room, and a salon. It had pretty much everything that we would like.

The meals and dining service can sometimes be a hit or a miss we do know right now they are having trouble keeping a cook around. The meals and dining service can sometimes be a hit or a miss we do know right now they are having trouble keeping a cook around. We have not participate in many activities as of yet, but what we have done they are good. It is an adjustment for us, and we like the apartment but are looking into moving into one of their villas that backs up to the lake but there is a waiting list. We would recommend this community to others.

Hello, I have been looking over the Watercrest @ Mansfield. I do have a few questions. The first question is; are you in the process of downgrading the property? Second; are you getting it ready to sell? When I first looked at the property I noticed the nice carpeted hallways that deadened sound and gave the place a class feel. However I have found out that you are removing the carpet for the low maintenance Linoleum planks with a wood grain pattern. And that you plan to do this with every hallway? I know economically it is lower cost, repair and cleaning. But it is the new wave of being "a luxurious Independent living retirement community"? That type of newer flooring will do nothing but amplify any sounds in the hallway for the residents. Another discrepancy I have found is that you state "we don't force our residents to pay for services that they do not want or use". Not true. Even if you don't eat any meals in the dinning room, you are charged $75.00 a month. Also you are charged $50.00 per month for housekeeping. This is only one cleaning, once a month. Most say they only have someone there less than an hour. Seems a little excessive. On the downgrading side concerns I have to also consider the Appliances. On your website it states"Upgraded, energy efficient, full kitchen stainless-steel appliance package. All I have seen in people's units are basic Whirlpool 17.5 Cu.Ft. Black refrigerator units. One resident told me that when they moved in, even though they charge the outgoing resident a $100 cleaning fee, that the cleaning that had been done was all surface. They had to move the range out not less than a month after moving in and found a huge amount of stuff. This included a small skillet, foodstuff and a dead cockroach. Another resident is telling that if the kitchen faucet goes bad they replace the brushed nickel single-handled faucet with pull-out sprayer with a conventional basic two handled faucet without a hose. I asked their maintenance about that and they said it's the way of world. Seems like a real down grade to me. I am sure that a suitable replacement faucet could be installed that won't break the bank. I know that suitable replacements run under $90.00. How does this fit in with In-Home Perks? "Designed with your way of life in mind, our luxury homes feature a variety of upscale finishes and features that elevate your lifestyle. And in another place it says apartments offer high-end features designed to elevate your lifestyle and even refers to upscale features like a full-size chef's kitchen. Again, I have to wonder, is this community stable for my loved one, or are they going to be continually downgraded without a voice. Thank you

Watercrest at Mansfield was a great place. It's lovely, but I just cannot afford it. They showed me around, took me to an apartment, and did everything that they were supposed to do. It was a wonderful place. I saw a beauty shop, a game room, and a swimming pool. The facilities were great. The rooms were also beautiful. It had granite countertops. It was spacious and nice. The lady who toured me around was perfect.

The process of them helping us determine if they were a good fit for our family was very tailored and was actually focused more on my mom as the caregiver than on my dad. Every place else was really focused on what he wanted and needed. But Watercrest actually focused on my mom as the caregiver, because if she doesn't have what she needs, then she can't help him fully. Also, their pricing was were more all-inclusive, so it's more cost-effective. And they provide multiple meals a day every day except Sunday, which was another plus.
