Warning- do not move your loved ones into the memory care section. My mom moved Into the assisted living facility in late 2020. We had no problems until they increased their rates by 10% a year later. When my mom was having some issues they claim she needs to move into the memory care section because she needs more care that we can’t provide in assisted-living. We move her, since they are the experts, and three months later they want to increase her pricing by $2500 a month after we had already more than doubled what she paid in assisted living! So she was now paying $9000 a month. I met with them, as my mom is not wealthy, but nobody really cares about your financial status. So my recommendation is use them for assisted living and move your loved one once they need to go into memory care. No one will help you or care what your financial situation is at Sunrise. It is extremely unfortunate that I had to move my mother from a place that she had become very familiar with. Once they have you in memory care essentially they can basically charge you whatever they deem is needed. I do have to say that a lot of the staff is very caring however the corporate culture is all about money.

Sunrise of Springfield is a wonderful assisted living AND memory care facility! Its employees and managers could not be more professional, more competent or more caring toward all of its residents…AND their relatives!

I placed my wife at Sunrise of Springfield almost two years ago, in the Memory Care Unit. My experience there has been remarkably good. The daily care for my wife, and compassion and professionalism of the workers and management has been remarkable. I have nothing but good to say about the place. I can unreservedly recommend Sunrise of Springfield and its Memory Care facility. They''ve made the best of impossible situation for me and my wife.

We can’t thank the team at Sunrise in Springfield, VA enough for everything they did for our family. We struggled for a long time on what would be the best way to care for our mother, who was diagnosed with dementia, when we could no longer care for her ourselves. After trying home care we eventually decided on admitting her in an assisted living program. We visited several fascilities and chose the Sunrise Springfield which had a Memory Care Section. We were truly blessed to find this place. We are forever grateful to the team that provided exceptional care for our mother. They were so kind to her. We visited often and they kept us updated about everything. They were very responsive to all of our concerns and questions. Our mother was there for 5 years until she passed away. We are comforted in knowing that she was always well taken care of. We built such a close bond to several of the caretakers that they became like family and we still keep in touch until this day. Words can’t express our gratitude to them all forever.

They go above and beyond to make my father comfortable and involve him in activities to help make his life more fulfilling and meaningful during what is an extremely difficult time in his life.

My Mother was hesitant and resistant to leaving her beautiful home of 56 years and moving into an assisted living facility, but living alone with a part time aide became unsustainable and potentially dangerous. After a couple of hospitalizations within a month she elected to do a 30 day respite stay at Sunrise instead of going to a skilled nursing facility (nursing home) for rehab. Within a couple weeks, my Mom made the decision to move to Sunrise permanently. She loves the community! The staff and residents were very welcoming to her when she arrived. This Sunrise is on the smaller size, which was important to her. It has a family feel to it. She feels safe and gets the perfect amount of attention from the staff members. They are all very friendly and caring to the residents. My Mom has an apartment she loves, is walking much more than she ever did at home which is benefiting her, has made friends and is truly enjoying interacting with people her own age (which is something she truly missed and needed) and she loves the food!!
