I went to tour Highlander Place. The general appearance was nice and pleasant. They had a courtyard in the center of the building, which was nice. There are woods right behind it, so you can see some wildlife. They were readying a room for a new resident. They paint, they fix everything, and they put new blinds up on the windows. It's very nice, but those rooms were too small. You couldn't even put a couch and a chair in the little living room. It was that small. By the time you put your TV up or a little table, it just simply was not adequate for me. They weren't doing any activities, too. And the cost was the highest of any that I saw. I mean you're paying more and getting less space and that's not for me. The staff who toured us was a lovely person. She was very kind. She walked me back to the car. She was very nice, helpful, and kind of fun to be with. She knew her job.

Worked here through my agency and all I can say is they can’t keep staff because of how terrible the management is. The ED Kris is the worst I’ve ever seen. So disrespectful to her staffing members.

My father (96) lived at Highlander Place for seven months. When we moved him in he couldn't believe how nice it was! He didn't expect that. He loved his caregivers. They attended to all his needs and became his friends. Highlander Place has a friendly staff who were there to help dad in any way possible. The maintenance person is a wonderful young man who helped my dad with numerous tasks in his apartment. He always had a smile and worked his best to make my dad happy. Dad also enjoyed eating in the dining room and visiting with the fellow "Vets" who reside there. Since my dad hadn't recovered from the fall he experienced last November, he's no longer able to stay in his apartment and was moved to a skilled nursing facility. He's thankful for the time he lived at Highlander Place and would still be there if it was possible.

The Highlander Place in Kelso, Washington is an outstanding place for seniors to live. The excellent care by the entire staff is reflected by the happy residents who enjoy numerous activities led by a superior Activities Coordinator. The Highlander Place in Kelso, Washington is an outstanding place for seniors to live. The excellent care by the entire staff is reflected by the happy residents who enjoy numerous activities led by a superior Activities Coordinator. Excellent food service, wonderfully attentive nursing staff, very thorough housekeeping and strong maintenance staff round out a very enjoyable living environment for your loved one. The attentive Administration staff is totally involved in providing and safe and supportive working environment for the staff and residents. Highly recommend Highlander Place.

I toured Highlander Place for my husband and myself. I liked it a lot. I did like the fact that they kept you together. It was smaller, so you got to know the people pretty well and I talked to three different people there. They sat at the table and talked to us quite a bit and I was impressed with them. I think I probably would choose them, because they don't separate you. I thought the staffers were very, very helpful. They talked about different things that were helpful to me, and even if we don't go in, they gave me some helpful hints. So I just thought it was nice that they would sit there and talk to you and tell you all these different things. I was impressed. I think they had some people playing the piano. They had exercise and crafts.

I would highly recommend Highlander Place to others. The community allows pets. The nurses and aides are good to work with. The food is great. They have lots of activities for the residents to participate in. The setting is beautiful and the community is all on one floor. There is an emergency ...

I would highly recommend Highlander Place to others. The community allows pets. The nurses and aides are good to work with. The food is great. They have lots of activities for the residents to participate in. The setting is beautiful and the community is all on one floor. There is an emergency lock on the doors and it is well secured.
