My uncle adapted quickly and enthusiastically to life at Lakeview. He enjoys both independence and community, not to mention the stimulation of regularly scheduled activities (Wii bowling, Lakeview Ledger, happy hour, weekly trips). His alcove apartment is comfortable, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the Activities Director is energetic and engaging. When we first visited Lakeview and met Kevin Kuhlman and Allison Anderson, both my uncle and I appreciated their straightforward, honest communication, and we both felt immediately that Lakeview was a good fit. I'm pleased that our intuition was right.

My now 90-year-old mother has called Lakeview of Kirkland home for about 18 months now. We moved her from the Midwest so I could be more involved in her care as she ages. We couldn't be happier with the move. The facilities are clean and bright. The staff is friendly and genuinely concerned about the welfare of the residents. They learned my mom's name (and her needs) quickly. The meals are excellent and a step above the institutional fare you might anticipate. My mom is especially fond of bingo and plays it during the 3-4 times a week it is offered. Bingo is one of many activities the staff plans throughout each month. There are excursions to area shopping, Wii bowling, movie nights, assorted games; just a wealth of things to do. I visited a number of facilities before choosing Lakeview. From first contact with the facility through today, I am confident we made a great choice for my mom.

My Mother lived at Lakeview for the last year of her life. She loved her 1 bedroom apartment and the view from her room on the 3rd floor. She also liked the fact that Lakeview is smaller than most facilities, making it more personal. The staff was great and she was always treated with the utmost warmth, dignity, professionalism and care. She had some medical problems and I could always depend on the medical staff to take excellent care of her. There is a lovely dining room and the food was great. There is a nice, quiet outdoor patio at the back of the building, where she liked to sit. Lakeview was very convenient for the family to visit as it was close to where we live.

Lakeview of Kirkland Assisted Living was the ray of light on a stormy night that I desperately needed to find. After a 6 week stay at Evergreen Hospital my Dad was unable to safely return to independent living at his Senior Apartment and I was asked by Dad's attending physician and a hospital Social Worker to find Dad a living arrangement that ensured he would get his meds, be fed and watched out for as his aggresive dementia left him with short-term memory issues, anxiety and physically weak. After much research and dozen site visits to care centers and group homes, I met with Kevin at Lakeview. Both my wife and myself were immediately impressed with the condition and cleanliness of Lakeview, the upbeat staff and the time Kevin took with us to understand the different levels of care, costs and expectations of life at Lakeview. The opportunity for my Dad to have an active, safe and dignified living circumstance is a relief for me and my family. It is very apparent that the staff at Lakeview truly care about the residents well being. People do make the difference and I applaud the staff at Lakeview.

My Dad lived here for 7 years and the staff was always so good to him. We had a very good experience all around. There are several caregivers and staff that have been at this community for 10+ years. The caregivers treat the residents with so much love and respect, they truly care about each of them.

While Ola is not able to partake in any of the activities any longer, we're there often enough to see the variety of options and the generous way that staff treats residents. Overall, staff goes above and beyond in caring for Ola.

My father has been at Lakeview of Kirkland for many years and I have been very thankful for the care and support they give. The facility offers many activities and brings in entertainment programs (like musicians or small performance groups), and has a lot to offer residents. It is always clean and the rooms are nice. It is easy to access staff when needed. The caregiver turnover is not infrequent, but I believe that is typical for assisted living facilities. There are a handful of amazing staff members, a few who have been there for years, that know my dad and his quirks and I know I can count on them even when major challenges arise. They were able to catch a major medical emergency a few years ago that could have easily cost my dad his life, but thankfully he received help so quickly he is still with us today. As my dad has been declining physically and mentally through the years, I've been increasingly impressed at their level of attentiveness, care and support. I am grateful my dad is able to live at Lakeview of Kirkland Assisted Living.

My brother, Gar, is so happy there at Lakeview, Kirkland. All the people working there treat him with such care and respect. He has been to other 'places' and always felt isolated and alone. it is a testament to the staff and admins on-site that he is as happy and comfortable as he is. so Many thanks to Kevin, Rusty and Allison, to name a few, who have made such a positive change is his living situation. we are very grateful!!

Hello - Lakeview Living is a very nice home for those needing assisted living. Clean and well kept. Rooms are crisp looking and updated -- some even have a good view of Lake Wash. Lots of activities for all interests. Staff and great volunteers available to help -- all seem to be very attentive. If necessary, I would not hesitate to move into the 'home'. Not quite ready to move there yet, but would recommend it. S. Ekins

I'm very impressed with the staff at Lakeview of Kirkland. Very friendly and personable, they are just the people you want your loved ones around. While I didn't get to spend a lot of time touring the facilities, I can tell from my visit that the folks in the community are taken care of and enjoying their time at Lakeview.

With the assistance of a professional, we located my Mom at Lakeview after a fall, hospital stay and skilled nursing. When we made the tough decision that Mom shouldn’t go back home (alone) we had a narrow window of time to make a decision and move Mom. The staff at Lakeview were awesome in facilitating the move and empathetic with our circumstance. While Mom wasn’t happy that she wasn’t moving back home, she really appreciated the staff who were always professional and compassionate. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Lakeview - the facility is well maintained, the staff responsive, compassionate and understanding!

Excellent Staff. Very proactive in the care of each individual. Lovely living spaces. Some beautiful views of the water and sunsets. The fact that they can accommodate living there beyond ones own resources may be invaluable to that individual. Lessoning the burden of having to relocate at an advanced age is such a huge benefit to a family.

I think things have definitely improved over the last few months or so. Food is better not just in taste but also in preparation - food is hot, foods are arranged separately instead all mashed in together. And service is quicker than before. Activities are great!! Outings are varied and fun. Lots of chances to get out and about. Inside the games involving everybody make the lobby and bistro very lively. The building has greatly improved in the last year - the lobby is now much better, most everything operates as it should and flowers out front. I do think that having a resident out front without his shirt sunbathing should be strongly discouraged - it's very unpleasant and probably doesn't present Lakeview in the best light. Particularly in attracting new residents. Communication still needs to be much better between residents and management. It's a constant subject in resident meetings. They should be informed on changes that affect them and given an reason why. A monthly newsletter and opportunities to discuss changes should be happening and isn't! The permanent staff are very easy to deal with and do their job well. The are a sizable number of agency people and most fit in very well. I think weekend staff and activities are treated as an afterthought, though. Since fitness programs are hit and miss I wish there was a dedicated physical activity space with some equipment for fitness work. Also it would be available anytime. Again, a suggestion from resident meeting. I don't like the switch to HopeLink for Medicaid transportation and I'm not alone - it's far more time consuming and it feels as though we are second class residents. When Lakeview says they provide transportation for residents it should be a facility bus available to everyone. This is one of the changes that happened with no notice or explanation. I think I'm general, there should be more of effort to involve residents in discussions about policies, changes and future plans. I recognize that it can be a challenge including and involving everybody when there seems to be great differences of abilities and understanding but those that CAN participate, should be able to. I do think there should be an all-inclusive guide to Lakeview that offers info about all facets of the facility - where things are located, where to find staff, meetings, nature of activities and policies, etc. Athough, I hear mostly complaints at meetings I do recognize the efforts and improvements that have been made and try to point them out to residents. But they still have legitimate feelings of being ignored and their needs treated as unimportant. Making much more of an effort to involve them would go a long way to addressing this. We all know it is a business but this is also our home, after all.

Lakeview of Kirkland has been the perfect answer to our problem of how to enable Mom to keep living independently, safely and securely, with plenty of social contacts, stimulation, and assistance when she needs it. She really enjoys the social events with the local community who come in to share stories, music, and art, as well as the bus outings for site-seeing, visiting museums, shopping, etc. She loves her room with the spacious separate bathroom, kitchenette, enough space for her main living room furniture, and is happy that she has a large window to the outside garden, bringing in plenty of natural light. All the staff at Lakeview of Kirkland go out of their way to be warm, caring, and supportive of individual needs. When an emergency comes up they are on top of it, with excellent communication and assistance in how to proceed and follow-up. I am at peace knowing that Mom is well looked-after at Lakeview of Kirkland, and I know she is grateful to be there too.
