At Bridgeport Place, people can live a life of relaxation while they meet friends, enjoy restaurant-style meals, and receive compassionate long-term care. The community’s assisted living program is comprehensive, offering senior living solutions for people who need help with their daily activities.

Located in beautiful University Place, WA, Bridgeport Place residents have easy access to everything the surrounding area has to offer. From stunning views to quality locally-owned businesses, older adults have limitless opportunities for fun outside of the community.

Bridgeport Place offers four floor plans: two studios, a one-bedroom, and a two-bedroom. Residents can choose from a standard studio or a studio with an alcove, which offers additional space. Studio apartments feature a large living room that doubles as a sleeping area, creating an expansive, open living environment. One-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments offer more solitude thanks to their private bedrooms, but they may cost more than studio floor plans.

Each apartment is unique, with its own charm and interior decor. Assisted living residents may arrange their apartments as they please, make it feel like home. Regardless of the floor plan, each living unit features:

    • Private bathrooms with large showers
    • Kitchenettes with sinks and full-size refrigerators
    • Expansive closet space
    • Large windows and exceptional views
    • Emergency call systems

Residents are welcome to prepare meals in their kitchenettes, but most are happy to eat in Bridgeport Place’s on-site restaurant. The restaurant serves an ever-changing selection of meals three times daily, featuring delicious recipes like marinated pork roast, garlic-herb chicken and baby back ribs. The menu changes monthly, letting residents try new meals and seasonal favorites on a daily basis.

The restaurant serves meals in a communal setting, letting assisted living residents enjoy company with their friends while dining. In addition to communal meals, Bridgeport Place offers the following amenities to encourage social interaction and creative expression among residents:

    • Arts and crafts sessions
    • Musical performances
    • Guest speakers and lectures
    • Fitness classes
    • Game and movie nights
    • Group outings and hikes

Social activities are open to all residents, including those in short-term respite care. By offering community events, Bridgeport Place stimulates their residents’ minds and helps them define their retirement with new hobbies, interests, and meaningful friendships.

Staff work with each person to develop an individualized care plan that fits their needs. Each person’s care plan is different and it changes as the person’s needs do. Bridgeport Place’s primary senior care services include:

    • Personal care/assistance with activities of daily living
    • Medication management
    • Transportation to appointments
    • Housekeeping
    • Laundry and linen services

People who come to Bridgeport Place for short-term respite care are welcome to the same senior care services like long-term care residents. However, the community does not offer memory care services and may not be a suitable choice for people living with Alzheimer’s or dementia. Memory impairments and Alzheimer’s disease can be challenging and often require specialized care. Bridgeport Place is not equipped for people with moderate or severe memory loss, however, their staff can help prospective residents find a suitable memory care program in the community.

With exceptional senior care services and fun-filled amenities, Bridgeport Place is one of University Place’s most popular assisted living facilities. Check out the FAQ below for more general information about the community or use the link above to make an inquiry.

Prospective residents may consider scheduling a tour of Bridgeport Place to get a closer look at life in the community. Tours are open to everyone and guests are invited to a complimentary lunch during the experience. The staff answer questions and explain different facets of life in Bridgeport Place, making it easy for guests to compare the community with other assisted living and independent living communities in the area.

    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: How do I know if Bridgeport Place is right for me?

Everyone’s care needs are different and they may change with age. Bridgeport Place offers a safe and soothing environment for people who need mild to moderate care, giving them a place to enjoy their retirement with the security of around-the-clock care.

However, the community’s services are limited to non-medical personal care. They are not licensed to provide skilled nursing care, nor may they provide ongoing medical treatments. To determine if Bridgeport Place is the right choice for senior care, interested parties can ask themselves the following questions to get a general idea of their care needs:

    • Do they need ongoing medical attention to treat chronic illness or injury?
    • Are they ambulatory?
    • Do they need rehabilitation?
    • Do they have Alzheimer’s or dementia?
    • Do they need help with their activities of daily living?

If a person requires continual medical attention or they are non-ambulatory, Bridgeport Place may not be a suitable alternative to skilled nursing care. Their staff is not equipped to help people with advanced medical needs and the community may not admit applicants who require ongoing health care services for the person’s safety. The community cannot admit anyone they are not sure they can care for, and this may apply to people who fall into these categories.

The same principle applies to people living with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Memory loss and impairments introduce unique challenges into a person’s life that may require special care. Bridgeport Place does not have a memory care community on site, nor do they offer Alzheimer’s care services. Depending on the severity of a person’s symptoms, Bridgeport Place may not be a suitable choice for people with Alzheimer’s disease.

To learn more about Bridgeport Place’s senior care services and admission requirements, prospective residents can use the links above to make an inquiry or tour the community. The staff can answer questions about the spectrum of their services, helping older adults and their families understand which care options may be right for them.

Q: Is Bridgeport Place a good choice for people with Alzheimer's or dementia?

Bridgeport Place offers a wide variety of assisted living services and wellness programs, but they do not offer specialized memory care services. People with memory impairments, Alzheimer's or dementia are welcome at the facility if their symptoms do not facilitate specialized Alzheimer's care, but the community may not be the most suitable option compared to a dedicated memory care community.

To learn more about Bridgeport Place's options for people with Alzheimer's disease, use the link above to make an inquiry. If a person living with Alzheimer's needs dedicated dementia care to preserve their wellbeing, the community's staff can recommend a nearby senior living community with a memory care program.

    Q: Is Bridgeport Place pet-friendly?

At Bridgeport Place, the staff believes animal companionship plays an important role in healthy aging. The community allows small, well-behaved animals to live on-site with their owners provided they fall within the community’s guidelines. Residents may have one pet at a time and the animal must be non-aggressive and non-destructive. To learn more about the community’s pet policy and requirements, prospective residents can use the link above to make an inquiry.

Q: How much does Bridgeport Place cost?

Bridgeport Place charges each resident a base rental fee and adds additional fees for each additional service a person receives. The rental fee includes the cost of room and board, housekeeping, and three daily meals, and varies depending on a person’s chosen floor plan and living arrangement.

    FamilyAssets Reviews for Bridgeport Place

We have 15 review(s) for this provider.

    Victoria at 23 Nov 2018:
My aunt is very happy with her apartment at Bridgeport Place and I think she has one of the largest at the community. She was able to bring most of her furniture, so she is very comfortable in her room. In terms of services, we're very happy with her housekeeping, it's always clean there when we go and maintenance is doing great, so she is happy with everything. When she did need help, the healthcare staff was right there for her, so they're accessible and responsive to her needs. I'd tell people to check it out, visit the others and see what you think. We liked it because it did both the Assisted and Independent kind of together, so she gets assisted when she needs it, otherwise they let her be. Overall, it has been a good experience for her and I don't hear her say anything about leaving anymore.

    Barbara at 23 Nov 2018:
I didn’t look around; my husband did a few years back. I think Bridgeport Place is good for my mother-in-law; it's not too big, but big enough. Management is doing wonderfully. The move in went well. Maintenance is wonderful, and housekeeping has been great. My mother-in-law seems to enjoy eating there a lot. She's been going down to the cafeteria which is really good. The activities are also very good. The caregiver staff has been just wonderful. She's been there a couple of months and we know she is safe and comfortable.

    H at 16 Oct 2018:
My wife and I have lived her since 2017, August, and consider the services very good. I am pleased with the building, management, and care. We have a two bedroom apartment and that takes care of our needs. We have our own bathrooms. We feel very comfortable. First and foremost, the front end management is always there if we need them. Our needs are their interest, and I feel my wife would say the same. Mona and her daughter in housekeeping do a very good job keeping the place clean and what have you. I've not had a problem whatsoever and they have answered any call or request I've come up with. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are done quite well at Bridgeport Place. Amy in activities tries to keep folks active, get things going in the afternoons and evenings. Maintenance is L.G.'s area of responsibility, she’s Johnny-on-the-spot when you need her, and she does take care of it. I would recommend it highly, because it meets the needs of residents. It’s very neat and clean, and that is especially important to seniors.

    A at 10 Oct 2018:
My husband and I have found the front-end managers to be very willing to help people. I don’t need any assistance, but my husband does. The caregivers have been very, very good. Housekeeping is excellent, and anything I’ve asked to have repaired, maintenance has done it. We've used the van here a couple times, it has a lift for the wheelchair. It's easy to schedule and reliable. I think the price is reasonable. It's not cheap, but it's adequate care, things are clean, food is reasonable, so it's a fair value.

    Darlene at 11 Sep 2018:
I moved my clients in this August. What I really like about them is the size of the community and how updated it is is a nice bonus. The staffing and the care is amazing. The family has been happy with Housekeeping. The maintenance is doing really well. They are one of the best-kept, well-run communities. The competition doesn’t hold a candle to Bridgeport Place.

    Nancy at 05 Sep 2018:
Transportation is one of the reasons I came to Bridgeport Place in the first place. Maureen goes out of her way, waits for me and takes me, so I don't know what I'd do without her. She has the patience, is loving and I can't believe how well she treats all the people. Besides transportation, the management at the community is accessible and responsive to my issues and my housekeeping lady is excellent. If I have any problems, Leslie told me to go to her and she will correct what she can. She is an ambitious and intelligent lady, so we have really been blessed with her. Overall, I am satisfied with the services offered here.

    James at 22 Aug 2018:
Management has been good, we had one meeting with them talking about my father's needs and what he is getting and that went well. He is happy with the food. The staff are great. There are plenty of activities offered and he has been participating in the exercises. Housekeeping is great, as is transportation. The care is good. They manage his pills. I would recommend it, we have had no major complaints.

    J at 08 Jul 2018:
We were there almost every day and knew all of the staff. The grounds look great. Leslie and her team of cleaners are just fantastic. It was excellent. They were on top of it 100%. The management there really took care of my parents and went above and beyond. We were so happy to have them there for the time being.

    Sharon at 02 Jul 2018:
I think it is a good community. My mother does not participate in many of the activities offered, but she does enjoy the scenic drives. She says she always likes the food and the service in the dining room. The care seems to be going well. The value is good and her room seems to be pretty clean and taken care of. I've haven't had any major complaints.

    Marliss at 26 Jun 2018:
The management always answers our questions and is available to offer whatever we asked for at the time. They always handle everything efficiently and on time. We have never had a problem with housekeeping. They always handle everything efficiently and on time. The on-site Maintenance girl Leslie is 100%. She is caring, efficient, and she's always there. It's like she works 24 hours, I don’t know how she does it. I think everyone has been very efficient overall.

    Joan at 25 Jun 2018:
My sister and I looked at a lot of places. This is the closest to us but also worked out that this is the best place. We are very glad she is there. Mom moved out of a house she was in for 60 years. This was a difficult move. She will occasionally say she misses her home. But this is a lot safer where she is now. Maureen is wonderful. I know she is very busy. When I need anything cared for, I tell Maureen and it is done. But she is always so friendly. Everyone there is friendly and professional. It is a huge relief to my sister and I. I would steer anyone there. I would tell them to look around and then come to Bridgeport Place.

    Georgia at 22 Jun 2018:
Due to her dementia the best I can hope for is that she is comfortable and happy and as healthy as possible. When I first brought my mom there, she fought me tooth and nail. After a month went by, she said it was the best decision she made. She loves this place. She really likes it there. It is her home now. Everyone treats her with respect. They have tried to get her engaged, but she is content sitting in the lobby, drinking her coffee. They have plenty of activities offered, though. Whenever I have been there, it is very tidy. The housekeepers are helping with laundry and that seems to be fine. One of the things that I was trying to key in on is what my mom's needs were. I wanted to find a smaller place. This is the right size for her. If you are someone that's looking for activities and decent meals, then this is a good place.

    H at 02 Apr 2018:
I do not know what other facilities cost, but I think the price here is fair. The chef is accessible and takes our complaints or recommendations to heart and listens to us. The housekeepers clean our apartment for us once a week and they take our linens and wash them for us. The young lady who runs maintenance does an awesome job. She works as hard as she can. I think the caregivers attend to their duties quite well. The management staff is accessible, which is important.

    Betty at 20 Mar 2018:
Overall, I thought it was really good. We toured many Assisted Living facilities and we felt that the Bridgeport Place food was one of the best. As far as the personal care of my mother, it was very good. I think they have a good number of activities. My mom didn't partake too much, especially in the latter years. She wouldn't remember to go even though it was something I know she would have liked. When we brought things to the maintenance staff's attention, they were taken care of. We were happy with her being there. If I had to do it again under the same circumstances, I would probably still put mother there.

    Alan at 12 Mar 2018:
Our experience has been excellent. We feel the people are very welcoming and friendly, we felt comfortable moving in, and even the residents are great. The response has been quite prompt when we call for help to get my husband up or into bed. They've been really prompt, and very willing to listen to what he says about how well he can move. Looking at the list of activities, they look very interesting. We did go to a movie the other day and really enjoyed that. The management staff has been very pleasant and willing to listen. It's very comparable in price to our last facility.
