    Detailed Information

    The Quarry, Vancouver WA

When it comes to senior living, few communities offer as many care services, wellness programs, and amenities as the Quarry in Vancouver, WA. Unlike many communities that stop with assisted living and Alzheimer's care, the Quarry offers six long-term care programs for people who need mild to advanced personal care. The community’s six long-term care programs include:

    • Assisted living
    • Independent living
    • Terrace PLUS
    • Alzheimer's care and dementia care
    • Parkinson’s care
    • Enhanced Care

Terrace PLUS and independent living offer light care services for people who are largely independent but need assistance with some of their daily activities. Like assisted living residents, Terrace PLUS and independent living offer the following services as part of their monthly rental fees:

    • Assistance with activities of daily living
    • Medication management
    • Transportation to and from medical appointments
    • Housekeeping
    • Laundry and linen services

The Enhanced Care program offers the same personal care services as assisted living with a higher staff-to-resident ratio. The staff may help enhanced care residents with meal planning, dietary monitoring, pet care, extended housekeeping, and laundry services, and may serve as a personal escort to and from the community’s dining room and social activities.

Regardless of a person’s care program, all residents are welcome to the community’s various wellness programs and social events. The Quarry offers an ever-changing event schedule to encourage social interaction and creative expression among residents, which may include activities like:

    • Arts and crafts sessions
    • Game and movie nights
    • Fitness classes
    • Group outings
    • Guest speakers and lectures

In addition to their social events, the Quarry’s in-house amenities are a popular attraction for many incoming residents. They are one of the only assisted living or independent living communities in Vancouver that offers an indoor, heated saltwater pool and a full-service day spa. Residents can take laps in the pool or get a massage without ever going far from home. In addition, the community has an on-site movie theater, a lounge, and a salon giving residents plenty of fun activities to choose during their stay.

When residents are not enjoying the community’s exceptional amenities and features, they can relax in their spacious, tastefully decorated apartment. The Quarry offers studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom layouts for people to choose from. The studio apartments are an affordable alternative to larger floor plans, offering manageable square footage at a reasonable price. However, many older adults prefer the one or two-bedroom apartments for their added space and additional privacy.

Regardless of a person’s floor plan, each of the Quarry’s apartment homes includes:

    • Individually controlled air conditioning and heating
    • Large windows offering spectacular views of Vancouver
    • Emergency call systems (enabling around-the-clock care)
    • Cable television
    • Internet hookups
    • Expansive walk-in closets
    • Private bathrooms

To learn more about the Quarry and how it compares to other nearby assisted living and independent living communities, interested parties can use the links above to schedule a tour or make an inquiry. Scheduling a tour is easy and free, giving prospective residents a chance to see the facility and meet the staff before they apply. The staff are happy to explain more about the community’s assisted living, independent living, Parkinson’s care, and memory care programs, and can answer any questions guests have about the residence or its amenities.

For more information, read the frequently asked questions below (FAQ).

    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: How do I know if the Quarry is right for me?

The Quarry offers a wide variety of services for people who need mild to advanced assistance with their daily activities. Their staff assist older adults with showering, dressing, and eating among other day-to-day tasks. However, the community is not equipped to provide certain types of senior care and may not be a suitable choice for some people, depending on their health conditions and care needs.

To find out if the Quarry is a suitable choice for senior care, prospective residents can ask themselves the following questions:

    • Is the person ambulatory?
    • Does the person need ongoing medical attention
    • Does the person have memory impairments, Alzheimer's or dementia?
    • Does the person have Parkinson’s disease?
    • Does the person need rehabilitation?

Although the Quarry offers a long list of services, they are not licensed to provide skilled nursing care. If a person is permanently confined to their bed or they require ongoing medical attention to treat chronic illness or injury, the Quarry may not be a viable option for their care due to the community’s licensing and limitations.

However, people living with memory impairments, Alzheimer's and dementia are welcome at the Quarry. Their memory care community offers specialized treatments for people with memory loss, creating a safe and secure environment for them to thrive. The same can be said for people with Parkinson’s disease: the Quarry’s Parkinson’s program is unique and offers ideal care for people living with the disease.

To learn more about the Quarry’s admission requirements and care limitations, interested parties can use the link above to make an inquiry.

Q: How do I know if the Quarry’s memory care program is right for me or my loved one?

Living with Alzheimer's disease or memory loss can be challenging. When people develop dementia, they have to adjust to a new way of living with an unfamiliar set of hurdles. The Quarry’s memory care community aims to make each person’s dementia journey easier, offering individualized care for each resident according to their needs.

Each Alzheimer's care resident’s individualized care plan includes structured activities to stimulate their mind and memory. The staff work one-on-one with each person to deliver the most effective memory care services according to their needs. Many of the community’s memory care services are similar to assisted living, like medication management and assistance with daily activities. Ultimately, the memory care services a person receives depends on how the severity of their Alzheimer’s or dementia and their biggest challenges.

To learn more about the Quarry’s Alzheimer's care program, interested parties can use the link above to make an inquiry.

Q: Does the Quarry offer short-term programs for people who usually receive in-home care?

Yes! Alongside the Quarry’s long-term care programs they offer temporary respite care for up to 30 consecutive days. Many people who receive in-home care need a substitute caregiver at some point during their retirement, and the Quarry can step in with their respite care services. Short-term residents are welcome to the same events and community amenities as assisted living residents and stay in the same spacious units. To learn more about the Quarry’s respite care programs, use the link above to make an inquiry.

Q: How much does the Quarry cost per month?

Each person’s base monthly rental fee includes their room and board, cable, around-the-clock care availability, meals, and housekeeping. As people need additional care, the community charges them accordingly. There is no “one-size-fits-all” cost estimate for Quarry residents, as each person’s total monthly fees are the sum of their floor plan and their individualized care routine.

For a personalized price quote, interested parties can use the “Get Pricing” link above.

    From The Owner

To us, a senior living community is so much more than a building. It’s a neighborhood of friends, an extended family, a place that people call home and want to call home for years. We’ve built a community of caring that helps seniors transition through their retirement years and stay here, at home in The Quarry, regardless of their recommended level of care. By offering six distinct care types including independent living, assisted living, and memory care, our residents are able to comfortably age in place, meaning they won’t have to move to another senior living community if they find themselves needing more or less help. If you or someone you love is considering a move to The Quarry, be sure to browse through our photo gallery to see firsthand why so many Vancouver seniors are proud to call us home. Keep Reading

I am the one who encouraged them to go and check it out and move there. What I have seen in regards to management is excellent. They respond quickly to requests. The food is excellent. I like their menu specials. Their chicken is amazing and their hamburgers are the best I have ever had. The portions are reasonable. I think my parents are enjoying the activities. Housekeeping does a nice job. They are not as needed in my mom's apartment. They come in and do the things that my mom asks them to do. They are helpful and non-intrusive. I think highly of this community.

The community is very well managed. The serving people in the dining room are very good and the food is excellent. They have a very nice selection to choose from; it is restaurant quality. They go over and above what you might expect. The maintenance staff keeps the grounds looking nice. They are replacing some carpet here and there. They just redid the dining room and they did a good job. The people they have on the care staff are very good and do an excellent job.

My husband built part of the building and knows the family that owns it, so we moved my mom in. Management has been responsive, very patient, and super helpful and nice. Dining is fabulous and housekeeping has been going well so far. Maintenance was really nice. It’s a beautiful place, it's uplifting. It's a great place.

We chose it for my mother becuase it had the nicest amenities that were specific to her needs. The Activities Department does excellent. Mom has already played bingo and they have fun. They have been having lots of fun. Houskeeping has been great. The grounds and common areas are beautiful. They are so over the top great to her in the care department.

We chose this community because we had a family member in a sister building and had a great experience with them there. Mom is doing great here, she is happy, she is clean and we are very happy with the care she is getting. The desserts look pretty darn tempting in the dining room. Mom doesn't have any teeth and every time we have been there she has had a meal that she can eat. The staff is all so kind and patient with all the residents. I think the activities are great. It is hard to keep up with her. When we stop in unexpected she is always off doing something. They keep her busy, busy, busy from morning to evening. She seems to enjoy it very much. There are nice flower gardens and fall colors and textures for them to enjoy when we take them on a walk outside. We are very happy with it.

My dad enjoys the activities, they've been consistent the few years he's been there. They take dad on rides, and he says the drivers are pleasant. The housekeepers are good, timely, friendly, and they take care of things. Definitely no problems with apart cleaning or the laundry. The caregivers are pleasant and treat him with dignity. We're satisfied, overall I don’t really have any complaints.

I certainly couldn’t be happier with my apartment and I am so thankful I can afford to live here. I have always gotten a response and help from management when I have needed it. They always have cheerful attitude. The things I have participated in from the activities department I have enjoyed very much. The housekeeping is excellent. My lady does a wonderful job. I think The Quarry has made it a priority to respond to the wants of the residents.

We're extremely satisfied with her stay at The Quarry and we are pleased with her apartment since she lives in a space with a den so when family visits, we can make that den into a bedroom. Management is attentive to any concerns that we have, so they are pleasant and very helpful. The dining service has always been good and we're satisfied with both menu variety and quality of food she is receiving at the community. With regards to cleanliness and maintenance, her housekeeper is good and the building looks very good as does the parking lot and grounds, so thus far it's been a positive experience.

This community has a good value and I like my apartment. I have never had anything but excellent response when I have reached out to management for any help. When they have reached out to me it has been reasonable. They are patient, loving and inclusive. It is a wonderful experience. Patrick, in the kitchen, is a doll. I wouldn't give him up for anything in the world. He cares for his kids. He trains them and watches over them like a big brother. He is marvelous with us and responds quickly to any questions, comments or complaints. I hear comments and suggestions but not many complaints. I think that speaks highly for him and everyone else in that department. I knew several people who worked with Patrick in the kitchen to make a special meal plan for them since they were not eating three meals a day in the dining room. The activities department wears me out. It is impossible to keep up with Laura, the activities director. She is so busy and is in everything. If there is some new thing coming up or a new group that is organized she is in the middle of it. That is wonderful. She is terrific. Eric is the greatest bus driver who ever existed. Anita is the volunteer who goes with us most of the time. Everyone has been equally good, efficient and caring. Eddie is my regular lady who does the house cleaning. She is wonderful, caring, anxious to please, friendly and cheerful. She is a pleasure to deal with. Her supervisor cares and wants things to work. She is concerned that we are having our needs met. She is a really nice lady. Robert, the maintenance man, hung my grandfather clock and my paintings. He taught me how to use the AC and the fireplace. He installed my screen door and fan. He has been a wonderful help. He is so patient when it comes to explaining things to me. The maintenance men are all good and the building looks good. The transportation provided was fine. The trips we go on are excellent. Everybody at this community cares about their job, the residents, and each other. Everybody has been very accommodating and helpful.

Any of the staff that we have talked to have had answers for us and they got them right away. The front office is very friendly. The food is wonderful and the staff is friendly. The housekeeping is right at the top. The first time she came in she asked me what I would like her to do. The housekeeper seemed to be very concerned about that. The housekeeper is doing fine; it is clean and she is very friendly. We looked around and found that the Quarry met our needs well. We also liked that it had memory care and assisted living. We are both happy with the Quarry. We have a washer and dryer; that was a must. The grounds are very nice and very comfortable.

Everyone in this community has been so nice and all of the old ladies love my dog. Jensen, the marketing manager, did a great job getting us all set up and moved in. They have good physical therapy and exercise and housekeeping does a great job. I have a power scooter and it banged up one of the doors and maintenance came and fixed it for free. The building is kept very nice.

I moved my parents in becuase it was closer to my house and as far as the cleanliness, niceness of the place and what they have to offer I think it's probably right up there. My parents have said that they really like the main dining room and that the food is really good there. It looks like they offer quite a bit of activities and every time I go there the apartment looks nice. I've gone in there and told the caregivers information and they've taken care of it so I think that's a good thing.

Management calls me back when they say they will. They are just wonderful and always kind. My mother goes with Shannon to the cooking class and the crafts class. They do such a good job with the activities. Housekeeping does a great job. They come in and go above and beyond with the cleaning. Everything is cleaned up quickly and maintained. The care givers are remarkable. When my mother is cranky they are still so sweet to her. I think she is quite happy there.

We feel fortunate that my father in law can live in The Quarry. It is one of the top rated assisted living here in the Vancouver area and I think it people and afford it that it is the place to be. We don't have any complaints and we feel the overall management does a good job. They have a wide variety of activities to do here. They keep the building and my apartment pretty nice. The consistency of the transportation is very good. I do not use the activities much because I have too many things going on, but there is a good variety. I have nurses come in and check on me. They are doing fine. I have lived at The Quarry since June of 2017. Every time I ask for help, I get it, so management has been helpful and happy to try and get an answer for me. There is plenty of activities going on. Every time I need help with something in my apartment, there is always a maintenance person that comes to my rescue. I am overwhelmed how nice and conscientious they are in getting me to my appointments and getting me home. The bus driver Bill gets me home safely takes my arm and brings me to the elevator, so I am just so grateful for that service.

They have a lot of activities for the residents there. Both of my parents are happy with the amount of activities offered. Overall it is clean. They take care of things quickly. Everything is well-maintained. The transportation department takes care of the residents and make sure they get where they need to go and make sure everything is safe. We're happy with the size of her apartment. My mother loves the food. The portion sizes are perfect for her. She likes the variety. The young people who serve are very kind. Many of them kneel down and get at face level when speaking with her. Mother's birthday was last week and we had a party of 12-13. We ordered off the menu and they took care of us. It was over and above for my mom. They offer wonderful activities. There's a huge variety and they encourage her to go. They're washing windows this week. The caregivers are excellent. The people are friendly, the building is amazing, the opportunities are amazing, and there are various levels of care under one roof.

My husband and I live at the community and while we would like the price to be a little lower, we think it is fair. The food is usually very, very good. We have a very good housekeeper. She gets us all cleaned up every Thursday, and if we have anything extra that needs to have done she'll do it. Like if a window needs to be taken care of, she does it. She makes the bed excellently. Maintenance is very responsive when you have a problem. The guy is very pleasant and he drives nicely. The transportation staff works in to your schedule if they possibly can and they get my husband on and off the bus. The activity team is very good. We're happy.

There is not one person in management who has not been responsive to my emails, phone calls, follow up, etc. I know that I have access to any of the managers any time. That makes me feel good. The main dining hall and the little café is good. I like the set up because the little café is always open, so my mom can be on her own schedule and get food even if she doesn't make it to the dining room. The staff in the dining hall is just super. There are a lot of young kids and they are energetic and conversational. I talked to Patrick and he said that he can train anyone to do the job, but it's the personality that he looks for. I think the price is fair and that the value of The Quarry is way up there. We tried to get my mom in the first time and it was full. The Quarry is my top pick for senior living in the area. She used to be in another facility and The Quarry beat them hands down. They are up there in the way they take care of everybody. She is a little picky so it is hard, but they try to manage and work with her. They'll bend over backward for her, and the staff works very diligently. There are a lot of things to do, and she will occasionally catch some of the music stuff that is going on. The care services are very good. They have met every need and have really been good in their communication. They take good care of my mother

There are other facilities in the Vancouver area, but she says she loves The Quarry. She's ok living there for the next 5 years, it's really worth it. I truly believe that the Quarry excels in not only their management, but the care of their residents. The living conditions are exceptional and it really is a first class operation. It's a good atmosphere to come into, it really feels homey. They acknowledge what every resident needs, focus in on that, and have regular meetings with family. Maintenance does an awesome job; they helped my mom put an organizer in her walk-in closet. She was having falls stretching for the high shelf and they acquired what she needed to make sure she could reach anything. She and my cousin moved in when the facility first opened up, and I like the level of care she gets and everyone knows her there. The Quarry has been number one in Clark County the past few years.

I think the price is fair compared to the value. We looked around at some other ones before we chose this one. There were a lot of them that were similar but I wouldn't let my dog stay at them. The dining was great. They have really good food there. I like the variety that they provide and I like that they have the different restaurants to take the residents to in the community. I love the activity director Kelly, she is awesome. They do a great job with the cleaning; it's very clean and very well maintained. It is very homey. It looks like a hotel when you go in the main lobby. I love the caregivers and nurses, they are awesome. They never hesitate to call if they have a question or a concern. We are very thankful that they care. I would recommend it to anyone who needs that type of thing. I like that they have the variety from the assisted living to memory care, it fits everyone's needs.

We are totally thrilled with my sister being there. And to be able to have a life without worry for your loved one in a care facility is just incredible. This is the very first facility I am aware of in the entire Clark County area that allows smoking in a Memory Care facility. She absolutely loves it and panics if she's going to miss lunch. They prepare food in a way that she is able to eat it, it is very attractive, it's delicious, and it is so fine-tuned to each person. We just had St Patrick's Day dinner. My husband and I went and it was just amazing. They had the complete place decorated, they had harp players and mandolin players, and every single decoration in every single room was made by the residents, and they were so proud. The housekeepers are doing her laundry and it's absolutely amazing. It is done on time, everything is folded, put away, hung up, and everything is organized. The place is real open and it's airy. You don't feel locked in the room. The caregivers take care of her, they put her in beautiful outfits, they help her choose clothes, and they make her bed. For my husband and I, the number one amazing thing to see is how well-staffed it is. They are so attentive and they know where she is every single minute. They have assigned caregivers and those gals are unbelievable.
