I want to provide my strongest possible endorsement of Home Instead under the direction of Julie Huebner in Phoenix’s west valley. I was in crisis: suddenly, in one week my mom changed from being fiercely independent to unable to read a calendar. I work and I needed someone to be with my mom when she woke up: to answer her questions, to help her dress, and to provide stability and keep her oriented until we could figure out what was going on. I needed all of this immediately. I needed someone skilled, trustworthy, and caring. One benefit of working in a college of nursing is that I received recommendations from nurses, therapists, and advanced practice providers. Home Instead was recommended more than any other. I called on a Friday; Julie Huebner met me the following Sunday; Shaleen started helping my mom on Monday. I was impressed with Home Instead’s training programs, vetting procedures, and flexibility of service. Several times Home Instead was there during crucial times when I couldn’t be. And when, after several weeks, we no longer needed Home Instead’s help, I was able to end our commitment within 48 hours. No contracts, no penalties, no strings attached. Being able to rely on a business like Home Instead was a blessing; I couldn’t have gotten through those weeks without them.
