Former employee. DO NOT have your loved ones cared for by this company. There is minimal training, so if your loved one requires more than someone to sit and keep them company (and this is asking a lot for HBD), please seek alternate care. Be consistent with caregivers to clients, especially clients who have a form of dementia. Having a set of caregivers is so important to help them maintain a balance, sending multiple different caregivers is too confusing and disruptive, especially with dementia clients. Actually caring about your caregivers, instead of just saying you do, would help you keep quality care. Actually following their availability would help. If they pick up a shift outside of their availability, to help out, that does not mean you can change their availability to suit your needs. Using a platform other than Facebook to communicate schedule changes and information about clients would also be beneficial, let alone following HIPAA guidelines. Not everyone uses Facebook 24/7. You need a secured app or platform to share schedule changes, open shifts and information on clients. Facebook is not a secured platform. I loved working with the clients I worked with. But never again will I go back to or recommend Homecare by Design to anyone. There are too many flaws, and the above only name a few. If I was so valued because I could care for a difficult dementia client an hour and a half from my home with no pay increase or mileage reimbursement for my travel. Why was I fired when I missed work because of a major immediate family medical emergency? I am referring to my mother having a heart attack and my brother having a pulmonary embolism, both of which they knew was the reason I was missing work.. For being a family ran company, you proved you care nothing for your caregivers and their families that day. Why would I ever recommend you to anyone?
