My mother was in this facility for two years and was a long term patient on Hospice. The facility was just “ok” at first. The environment is dim and unwelcoming overall, with a significant stench of urine that will hit you in the face as you enter. With the recent Covid situation, the facility obviously limited people coming in, including Hospice. This was the major turning point in my mother’s care. Without anyone able to come in and check on my mom, we were left trusting her care to those working at the facility. My dad would call in several times a week to check to see how Mom was doing. He was always reassured that she was doing well and being cared for properly. Upon returning, my family and I were horrified to find that my mom was not receiving the proper hygiene care she should be. Her teeth, in particular, had become so decayed that it was obvious they had not been brushed in quite some time. The enamel was breaking off and serious decay had set in. The faculty were very rude overall and became resistant towards us trying to get the situation resolved. They tried to pass the blame to others and denied their responsibility in the negligent care. Needless to say, we immediately moved Mom to a much better facility. I do not recommend this facility at all. If your loved one cannot speak for themselves, the staff will easily look over them and neglect vital care.
