My father just spent 3 weeks there before being transferred to a Memory Care ALF. I had a very pleasant experience with Shannon, Brenda and the nursing staff. This was such a difficult time for our entire family and they always treated us like family. They were caring, patient and understanding. Always had time to listen and willing to help however they could. The entire place was clean and organized. My father never had anything negative to say. I am very grateful for everyone at Cross Garden Care.

I read a review from a person named Mariana and I felt I needed to chime in. As a maintenance director for another facility I feel I should set the record straight on the Elevator topic. I have worked in assisted living for 6 years and we have four elevators where I work. Now when it comes to inspections by the state. It is very common for the certificate in the elevator to expire before the state gets to it. Just look around at hotels, hospitals, and anywhere else. They typically run 6 months behind. As there about three inspectors in the whole state of florida. Now recently they have made a change where they are now allowing third party inspectors to jump in and do it. However the facility would need to pay for that. I for one have gone that route. However not every facility is going to do this and they are not obligated too either. As far as the rest of her review. I can’t weigh in on it. As I have never been there or have anyone I know there. I hope at least addressed the elevator certificate expiration comment.

I have been spending time across the street from this nursin home for the past 5 days and am appalled at the fact people can leave there families in this nursing home. You hear screams of terror all day , patients screaming for help frantically and can see the attentdent entering shouting back at the patient and leaving them there . I’ve seen attendants drag the patents from one room to another aggressively while the patient uses whatever power to Pull back . My friend who has lived there for years said it was a norm , you hear cries all day. There is either a need for more staff or a staff that is more competent to work with patients who are mentally ill . It’s obvious current employees work for a check and not for the appropriate care of these individuals. God bless them all and please be careful where you leave your family

This facility is something one would witness in a thriller. I wish I could give this ''residence'' the appropriate review it deserves, but nothing I can articulate can describe the horrors of this facility. Let me start off with the basics, it is dirty, it smells putrid, I''ve witnessed residents laying on the floor in the hallways and I, myself, asked staff specifically, "well aren''t you going to pick him up?", and their response was, "he always does that". Residents walking around with urine covered clothes, and feces on the floor. Not to mention, the Nurses, their attitudes are appalling, and their professionalism is non existent. Might I add, the elevators fail to work, and they have missed their inspection date by almost a year...go ahead check the expiration date, I have a photo of that too. They have residents, and guests utilizing this elevator, and clearly it is not code-approved, and it is malfunctioning. ON TO MY TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCE. The FIRST night my father was there (he has severe dementia, and unfortunately, cannot speak for himself), I was disgusted and I was planning to transfer him as soon as possible, 2 days later mind you, I visited him and he had 2 black eyes and a swollen nose. Apparently, according to the nurse, he was like this the day before and she thought he ''looked'' that way. Now, I feel like i am a pretty rational, logical, human being, but as far as I know, citizens just don''t walk around with black eyes...right??? I even called the day before to check up on him and they told me he was fine, apparently not. Not to mention, they failed to give him any medical attention, and they did not even care to write an accident report...this furthered my suspicions. At the very least, I would think they would get him ice, or make sure his nose wasn''t broken. Oh no, why do anything the professional, legal way?! There was even some blood on the floor, I''m assuming if that''s where the incident occurred, then it wasn''t cleaned for 2 days, or if it wasn''t caused by the incident, I''m assuming they ignored whatever took place to cause that as well. This makes me believe, it could have very well been staff. The only way I was able to take him to the hospital, is because I threatened to call the cops if they didn''t take him. Which makes this whole situation even more questionable. Do yourself and your loved ones a favor, do not send them to this facility. I reported them to DCF, and I am still not sure how or why they are still in business. Unfortunately, this is the world we live in, "what is legal is not always ethical, and what is ethical, is not always legal". It is a sad situation, and I couldn''t fabricate this if I tried. For Brian Shea And anyone else who has read this review I just want to let you know that although I cannot vouch for standard elevator procedures I have been diligent when riding in an elevator ever since to ensure that the date of which it is expected to be inspected is according to code and I have not come across any other elevator with the issue that was found at this facility. Needless to say I am not am not saying that you are wrong I am just saying I have not come across the same issue so other elevator companies have not adopted the same practice of what you are speaking of. With regards to the photo of my father, Charles Griswold, it is located at the top of this page I was there the first day he entered the facility and he did not have any bruising whatsoever, in fact, they took a photo of him and placed it on a brown bag with all of his items in order to identify what items belong to him. He did not have any bruising of any kind the first day of intake, two days later the image that you see in this webpage is what he looked like. I cannot vouch for how this facility runs currently as I have made many claims so hopefully they have improved their overall procedures for patient care however buyer beware.
