It has been an extremely challenging few months for my father, me and our family. It is early in the morning with little sleep and ability to concentrate for me as I''m writing this. Therefore, I will leave a very little and come back. When we''re boen and raised by extremely loving, intelligent and hardworking parents, it is more than hard and excruciating to experience them deal with life''s challenges period. When we''ve become used to them overcome so many obstacles and conquer the unconquerable the transfer to them needing our help when they just still need and want to be independent is heartbreaking and hard. Becoming used to helping to care for them for however long... in my case in some ways or others-years and SUDDENLY, their health difficulties and hourly needs change into more than we can successfully handle... it''s so overwhelming, to say the extreme very least. IF the need comes to have to entrust our loved ones to ANY other individual or group (including doctors) our minds and hearts go into overdrive, even further than before and little things, like clothes getting lost or knowing they perhaps are busy caring for other patients (because we''re used to doing it all for ONE->OURS, or not knowing how to simply help them to the bathroom, keep them from falling professionally and/or understand that understaffing (is a thing, an ugly one). There are places that truly don''t give a damned!!! NOT MONROE ! IF there are concerns or mishaps they''re faced, addressed and corrected if the need a rises. My father and our family has faced more challenges concerning his health and independence since 2019 and more recently from January until now than we have in our whole lives together. Let me say, these people catch our fears, questions, frustrations, trust, demands and much, much more with patience, grace, understanding and.... sometimes not. They are humans and professional. I don''t know everyone''s name and honestly, I haven''t voiced name badges for everyone, yet. However, on Unit One I will name a few that our family has become to know by name: Nurse King, Nurse Juels, Nurse Fred, Head Nurse Margaret, The nurse who''s so color coordinated, Nurse Ewing, Luv, Laura, Donna, Zelda, the new Social Worker who helped us and made copies of the legal paperwork and each and every one of the caring, positive, upbeat and professional people that we just don''t have "government names" for yet including the Dietary Staff who assures my dad gets the proper & tasty nutrition he needs, the sanitizing engineers who does so much more than cleans and the faces of Monroe who greets us with an inviting smile, asks us ALL those questions, takes our temperatures, etc & makes certain that everyone is safe coming in & out... including monitoring who''s going out & coming in. Not last or least because the big reason we''ve endured three stays with my father here is THERAPY. Although they have the least chronological time with him, AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME is all I can say! And as much as this Guy loves his independence and detests illness and being dependent, he absolutely loves and enjoys the rigorous work that the Physical Therapist (I think Jordan... please forgive me if I have your name wrong), also the Occupational Therapist and the Speech Therapist who asks ALL those redundant, "stupid questions" who gets his cognition and memory right back on point. Whelp, so much for this being short. We are extremely grateful and appreciate You all. ***HEART HEALTHY FOOD IS A DESPERATE NEED ASAP, however in order for my father and others with heart and kidney problems to LIVE.**** Thanks.

Eva was a wonderful help when admitting my mother from westchester hospital. Eva was extremely caring, checking in everyday making sure my mom was comfortable. She is genuinely concerned about the patients in Cedar Manor.

We are so grateful to Cedar Manor for their incredible care of my mother-in-law. My mother has been in and out of hospitals and rehabs over the past year, and Cedar Manor is the one place that we would send her back to. Lori Gest, Director of Social Services, was incredible. We are so grateful to Cedar Manor for their incredible care of my mother-in-law. My mother has been in and out of hospitals and rehabs over the past year, and Cedar Manor is the one place that we would send her back to. Lori Gest, Director of Social Services, was incredible. Super responsive, accommodating and very on top of my mother-in-law''s care. In addition, all of the staff that we (and my mother-in-law) came in contact with very kind and caring. The aides, as well as the occupational and physical therapists, all took the time to get to know her as a person and to see to it that her needs were being met.
